Has anyone else tried Enlighten ice cream bars?  Oh my goodness!!! It is sooooo awesome. Great protein. Tastes like ice cream. Healthy!

If you have tried it, do you love it, hate it, or had any good/bad experiences. It literally seems like maybe it is too good to be true and I am missing some fatal flaw.

They sound disgusting, just by the ingredient list.  Thankfully, ice cream has been a guarantee dump food for me so I've learned to go without.  I certainly wouldn't buy fake stuff, but if it floats your boat, good for you!

I have been really struggling with protein intake and haven't tolerated shakes, bars, isopure, and all of the typical protein boosting things we use.  When I saw these I figured, "Well it can't be worse than all those other protein things" and gave it a try.  Now I can get in that last bit of protein I need for my daily goal and it really tastes great to me.

I've never had a protein shake or bar, in nearly 12 years.  As long as you make sure that protein rich food is the premier ingredient on your plate at every meal or snack, you will meet your needs with ease.

That is definitely my goal!  Hopefully as more time goes by since surgery I will be able to meet the goals without so much effort. I am looking forward to eating feeling much less thought consuming.

Way to go on being a long term success! That's awesome!

I just searched and they sell it at the Kroger near my house.  I'm going to pick up a box of the bars.  Even if they aren't good for me, they may be a good option for my hubby since he's really doing well.

Tip for trying them the first time...

On the box it says something like for full enjoyment let settle for 2-3 minutes.  I missed that note the first time and it was good but not as good.  The second time I had one I let it sit out on the table for about 3 minutes and then ate it.  This allowed it to soften just a bit and the texture was much better.

Let me know what you think!

They are great!  I've tried almost all the flavors.  I like the hot chocolate the best. I've been having them here and there (sparingly) along my journey to add a bit more protein in at the end of the day.

I have never seen the hot chocolate flavor.  I will have to look around for it!

Have a great day!

For me I only eat 5 carbs or under per serving and I don't go over 39 per day.  These ice cream bars not only have too many fake things, too high in carbs but are a trigger food for me.  I wouldn't bother with them.  If they are working for you and all is good then it's okay as an occasional treat.  I feel the first year is your window of losing as much as possible.  Why not take advantage of it and eat super healthy.  Since my appetite is low this is easy for me.  I think eating wisely contributes to the feeling of being satisfied all day.  I am only 3.5 months out and i feel great so it's working for me so far.
