RNY ers..........would you do it all over again?

Would you go through everything that you have gone through

to get to the place you are at?

It has only been six months and I have only one regret...that I didn't do it sooner!

I had the sleeve in 2010 and it never worked.i beat myself  up wondering what  i was doing wrong. Im getting  a revision  in 4 months .when i went to my current  dr he said its common  for the sleeve to not work for some and mine wasnt done correctly, from the very start i didnt have restrictions and i tried to stay on the correct  meal plan but i was always  hunger and got really depressed. So yes i look forward to  my second  surgery.

I would definitely do it over again. I had surgery 31/2 years ago with a high weight of 272 pounds,diabetes,high cholesterol,high triglycerides and uncontrolled high blood pressure. I was out of breath going down my basement steps and had pain in my knees and back everyday. Today I weigh 122 pounds and my blood sugars,cholesterol,triglycerides and blood pressure are perfect. I walk 4 + miles every day without pain just for fun. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner!

There are things about the process that were unpleasant and difficult.....it's true.  But nothing even close to the misery of dragging around 100 + extra pounds and feeling sick, tired and depressed all the time.

In a split second.....should have done it years ago.

A thousand times, YES! 

I was not only SMO and just disgusted in myself, but I had NO quality of life. I did not want to get out of bed in the mornings or get dressed or talk to anyone. I had no self esteem and secluded myself. 

I am only 8.5 months out and already I feel human again! I am a new person! It saved my life, I know without a doubt.
