NG tubes and drain tubes?
I just read an article that said that I might wake up with a tube down my nose and possibly
one coming out of my stomach?
Has anyone experienced this?
Thanks

You might have a drain in the unlikely event your procedure is converted from laparoscopic to open while on the table. However, it's the surgeon's discretion and not universal. Overall it's rather uncommon, I think.
I can't think of any reason you'd have an NG-tube.
Both of these are pretty remote but if you're concerned the only person who can answer for sure is your surgeon. You can ask him or her under what cir****tances either of these might occur and their chances.
I didn't have a nose tube, but I did have a drain tube in my stomach in my main laproscopic incision. It just looked like a tiny balloon sticking out of my stomach and didn't bother me at all. I could shower with it there. It was in place for 2 weeks following the surgery. I was glad to get it taken out, but I can't say that it bothered me at all. ~Karen
