What's On Your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
on 3/15/16 7:35 am
Today is a travel day so no idea what I will actually eat. I have lots of snacks packed--almonds, peanuts, Cheese Os, etc. I can tell I gained a little on the trip. Dammit. I hope it won't be a lot. I might do a detox week with shakes if it's really bad. Either way, back on the wagon, starting...now!
The only reason I didn't like daylight savings this weekend was that it robbed me from a precious hour of vacation!! Also since I leave the house at 5:30am most days, it really makes driving to work feel like the middle of the night. But I've never understood how a person can't recover from an hour time change.
Pizza...I can take it or leave it. Sometimes it's perfect but I don't like the grease from meat on pizza, so I feel like it's 50/50. I'd rather get mozzarella sticks ;) Mmm, gooey cheesy heaven-sent goodness.

Good morning! It takes a couple of days for my internal clock to adjust to the time change, but it really isn't a big deal. QOTD: I haven't had pizza since WLS, but I used to love a local restaurant's thin-crust artisan pizza - crisp crust, no sauce, just herbs and sun-dried tomatoes brushed with olive oil, and a crumbly cheese that looked like feta but wasn't. Delicious!
Food:
B: quick steel-cut oats with protein
L: chicken thigh with bell pepper strips
D: the last of the roast sirloin tip
S1: small banana; S2: frozen mixed berries

I like Grim's time shift strategy, but I'm hungry in the morning, so maybe I'll start the day with a snack and move all the meals along by a few hours. Thanks for the idea, Grim!
Most often, I have a protein bar first thing, and then hold off eating again for as long as I can. 170 calories is a small bit of my calorie budget, if it can last several hours.

Sorry... A non pizza person here. If I am picking toppings I would pick tomato and onion... But I don't generally eat it, even before surgery. Now, put down some little Caesar crazy bread and you could lose a finger!!
I don't generally struggle with late night eating but I think it's because I work nights. But I have on occasion. I can think of 2 nights I went to bed crying instead of caving. I try and save 25 calories every day so I can fit in a diet hot cocoa after work if I need to. I also love spice chai with a half a scoop of vanilla/little water on the top if I need it. We also don't keep junk in the house so it's easier. We only buy it if it is planned.
Tall skinny vanilla latte
Chicken patty with reduced fat swiss
1/2 scoops op of protein powderand tea
I have some sliced corned beef at home from trader joes I am going to add but not sureof the stats.
Just not sure what else....

So yesterday was 2 weeks from my surgery and the first day I didn't totally crash in the afternoon - so yay! progress. I did do a little update in the Plastic Surgery Forum if you want to look. update
So in the "I must be crazy category" I am leaving at 6am Friday morning to fly to Arizona for my nephew's wedding. I am leaving AZ on Monday at noon, getting back to JFK at 8:30PM. First I paid the piper for the extra legroom seat, as I am tall and right after surgery. So flying protocol figured out with Surgeon being I am flying a long flight so close to surgery: Wear my industrial support knickers they gave me, wear compression/support knee highs, about 2ish hours before the flight takes off give myself a shot of blood thinner, and get up at least once to walk around. (He said every hour at first, but I booked a window seat). I decided I am bringing all dresses, it will be in the high 80's and trying to put any kind of pants over compression garments is ridiculous except stretchies...
Love when it stays lighter later...clock change doesn't bother me.
Pizza...now you are talking. Love me a good plain cheese pizza. There is a place near me that makes awesome Sicilian and I like their Spinach-tons of fresh spinach on top and garlic and ask for extra cheese. Then there is that impostor when I go to Chicago that tastes good, but is not pizza... My DIL likes it with Pepperoni and Spinach and that is a nice Italian casserole.
I also usually don't eat before noon, Usually lots of tea, water, and maybe a protein drink.
B: 2 large tea, 1 TBSP Peanut Butter off a spoon. Rare morning I woke up feeling I needed something in my stomach ASAP.
S: Inspire Strawberry White Chocolate Protein
L: Chicken Salad
S: Bar?
D: Probably soup with added unflavored protein powder when I get home? Have to run a Board Meeting tonight, they always have food, but it i**** or miss if I feel I can eat it. Usually wraps and salads, but I still don't do cold cuts well.

Good morning! I am late to the posting party because I had to take the boy child to Urgent Care this morning. He has a sinus infection and has been intolerable for the past 2 weeks. That god they prescribed antibiotics. Then girl child left her cello at home so I had to run that to school. Good gravy!
QOTD: Mmmm Pizza. I love it and I still eat it fairly often (although it is one piece max unless its cracker thin crust). I am totally a carnivore. I don't like veggies on my pizza but throw any kind of meat on there and I am a very happy girl (except anchovies). I like white sauce, red sauce or oil. Thin or thick crust and chain and boutique places alike. I am a pizza ***** There I admitted it.
Time since surgery: 20+ months
B: 2/3 egg white delight and coffee with cream

Post workout: EAS Complete Shake
D: Fried egg and turkey bacon
W/V: Started
E: Swim after work (2500m) and 1 hr trainer ride tonight

Sorry about your son. I used to get sinus infections years ago, and they were pretty painful. I hope he's better soon.
