What's On Your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
Hi All,
AV, I am randomly waking up at 5 am this week, so I am exhausted, but I don't suppose I can blame it on the time change (and it's dark in the morning so what the hell is waking me up?).
Pizza is the greatest food in the world. While I was in losing phase, I would crisp up a half of a FlatOut light wrap in the toaster oven, and then put either pizza sauce or pesto on it, plus mozz cheese and turkey pepperoni. Now, I periodically eat thin crust pizza. I also love a white pizza with ricotta and garlic and cheese! I also love love love pineapple and jalapeño. I don't like chain restaurant pizza BUT Domino's has a super thin crust pizza that isn't too bad for the calories/carbs.
Making me think of pizza is totally taking us all down with you!!! LOL
Time Since Surgery: 2 years 3 months
B: Leftover Japanese Koraage chicken, which promptly made me throw up, coffee with half and half
L: Cajun salmon, cucumber salad
S: Feta cheese/olives with multigrain pita chips
D: Trader Joe's mini tacos with light sour cream and hot sauce, a little cheese
E: One hour of SolidCore. Ouch. I didn't work out for the last 9 days since I had pulled a muscle in my back, so today was ESPECIALLY painful! And amazing.
Totals: 1,538 calories, 80 protein, 88 carbs, 95 fat. Hmm these numbers are not ideal.
Have a great day, all!

I don't really like the change to Daylight Savings Time. I do like the extra hours in the evening, but it always takes us a while to adjust, and I miss the morning light--especially now that it changes in mid-March. both my husband and I have been really exhausted, and our sleep really messed up, since Sunday's change. Maybe from something else, but it is really yucky.
Pizza is a take it or leave it thing to me. I do like it but I do not crave it. When we get it now, I eat the toppings and a bite of crust.
I have been somewhat MIA on this thread. Things are always crazy busy here. I have another medical procedure tomorrow, and I anticipate being down for about a week, so I have been scuttering around trying to take care of things. We have also had a HUGE backyard landscaping project going on.
Tuesday is always the crazy appointment/runaround-to-lessons day as well.
Today's menus plan--I really do so much better when I post and plan this out:
Throughout the day: Herb tea and Crio Bru (that's my brewed cocoa coffee substitute).
B: Leftover homemade chicken pot pie (Pi Day yesterday! I avoided the sweet pies entirely, even though I made key lime tarts for my family.)
L: Talapia and cabbage
D: Roast beef in broth-based gravy, with brocolli (making brown rice for the family also)
S: If hungry, the old standbys--Fage yogurt, Kind bar. Also, unsweetened soy and coconut milk in the Crio.
True confessions: Husband bought Dove chocolate eggs last night. I have already eaten one. Nice to blame the husband this time, though he did not open the wrapper and shove it in my mouth.
p.s. I finally changed my avatar! I miss my little Victini image, though.
Good morning! KQOTD No. 1 - Daylight Savings Time - Nah, I like to complain about it, but in actuality it doesn't really bother me. I adjust pretty quickly. KQOTD No. 2 - I know this may put our friendship at issue, but pizza was never my thing. Almost 2 years post surgery and I haven't missed pizza once and haven't tried any of the pizza substitutes (cauliflower crust, flat out, etc.) If I had to pick, it would be sausage and mushroom . . . although your garlic pizza sounds AMAZING.
my weekend (and to be honest, last night . . . damned hamentashen) has caught up to me and the scale is up. Going to try and stay on the right path today and I brought plenty of protein heavy foods. Hopefully I'll stay on the right track.
B: left over tri tip (3.9 oz); sugar free hot chocolate
L: can of tuna with 1/2 tbs of mayo and a squirt of mustard; romaine lettuce, .5 oz pork rinds
S: i have options: Light and fit or cottage cheese or turkey and provolone roll up (light and fit and turkey roll up included in total)
D: New York Strip (4 oz), asparagus
Totals: Cal. 1010, Protein: 115g; Fat: 45g, Carbs 25g
Yep, born and raised. I even stayed here for college and law school. I prefer weirder pizza like from California Pizza kitchen (garlic chicken, BBQ Chicken, mushroom and cheese) over traditional pizza choices (pepperoni, etc.) but I could take it or leave it. The big craze here these days is a "do it yourself" pizza place where you choose your own toppings etc. I'm like "eh, whatever."
I have lurked for a long time (18 months) finally thought I'd join the festivity. I do enjoy the QOTD - you do a really good job.
I too do not get why the hour bothers everyone so much. Apparently they have nothing else to bother them I have one of those jobs where you are on-call 24/7 (IT job). I lose an hour several days a week, it's just the way it is. Come on people - toughen up
(sincere sarcasm)
I haven't met a pizza I didn't like, with the exception of the one with ham and pineapple. I don't think those go together....
Time since surgery: 17 1/2 months. (30 lbs from my goal still)
B: Premier Protein RTD - Vanilla
2 Decaf Coffees - Orig. Coffee Mate/Splenda
Homemade Oatmeal/White Choc/Craisin cookie (OMG I can't help it - Bad Girl business)
S1: Activity Greek Light - Strawberry
L: Salad - with baked chicken 2.5 oz - Light Ranch & balsamic mixed up.
D: Chicken Breast Wrap - low carb whole wheat taco size tortilla - 2.5 oz chicken, lettuce, tomato - 1/2 tbsp light ranch and Cholula
S2: Ritz Crisps & Laughing Cow Wedge (naughty carbs)
TOTALS: Cals: 1098 Protein: 90 Carbs: 71 Fat: 46
I am afraid exercise and I are at odds and have been my entire journey....Sadly, I haven't found anything I enjoy enough to repeat.
I try to drink enough water, but tend to frequent my coffee habit over the H20.
Chicken Chicken Chicken, all I ever eat is chicken...cluck cluck cluck -
Good Day everyone
Yeah, I don't feel the exercise either, unless you count walking the dog. Which I don't.
