Day Five Optifast
Hi Teio, I'm only a few days post op so I'm not really feel withdrawal yet but last night I dreamed about a fried pork chop. I figure rather then dwell on the food I need to find something else to do so that I don't have time to think about it. My mom bought me an adult coloring book...I'm thinking I'll be the next Picasso by Easter..lol.
Good luck...just remember it normal to struggle but don't let it beat you!

Stay strong Teio....when you feel like "being bad" you need to have a plan. Distract yourself, call a friend, go on OH, and colouring is awesome!!!!!
The Opti phase is just the beginning. Think of yourself as " in training" right now. It's a big change in routine and habit, and it's tough.......and you will need to be tougher!!! Just remember going off plan will make you feel awful and defeated.....where as getting through the cravings and teaching yourself control makes you feel awesome and powerful!!!! Hang in there...you can do it!! And yes it does gets easier

Optifast has some sugar and that can cause some cravings. My doc gave us a list of possible alternatives, lower in carbs and sugars. That worked better for me ... I still had some optifast - but maybe only 1-2 per day..

I'm also on day 12 of Optifast and it's also sooo hard! I have dipped my finger in the food to get a taste and also had miniscule bites not worth mentioning but now I'm feeling bad, of course. I hope I haven't hurt myself. I've lost 15 pounds so far, and I have one more day until surgery.
Feeling guilty and bad.
