2 weeks post op and 2 weeks of liquid diet down. One more to go. I want to chew on something!!! I've cut oranges and nibbled on them that way but it's not the same! I don't want to screw anything up and am committed to the long haul here but I'm head hungry for something crunchy!!! Anyone have any tips to get through this stage???

That's a thinker there. I know that letting your insides heal is paramount currently. It will take twice as long for them to heal than for the outside.

Just please use caution right now. This is when people do not realize that there is zero tolerance right now in phase 1 and 2, for anything that will inhibit healing. The soft food is just for that, easy digestion.

I crunched ice for 2 weeks.

Quest Nutrition sells protein chips that would be perfect.  You can also take a piece of cheese, put it on parchment paper and microwave for about 30 seconds and it becomes a cheese crisp.  Check the internet for directions.

If you are on liquid diet- maybe do a sugar free popcicle??

I would stay away from all that sugar in the oranges. Also not sure it is on plan if you are on liquids?

Good advice about the acid in citrus being a bit harsh on the internal healing.  Ice chips are a great idea even though sugar-free popsicles were my savior.  Warning about the cheese crisps...way too delicious and wish I could un-remember them.

I don't mean to sound as harsh as this is going to come across. SUCK it up!. You can stick with your physicians plan and be successful, or don't stick with it and fail. The choice is yours. The first few weeks until you get back to solids will be difficult. You will get tired of eating the same things day in and day out. This is the time to retrain yourself that food is not a comfort, it is fuel for our bodies.

Best of luck to you and hang in there. It is so worth the effort!

It seems bad now, but eventually you'll be back to crunchy stuff.  Don't pu****  Stick strictly to your diet plan.  This will pass, and you'll be glad if you don't cheat it.

I'm 13 days post-op and I'm right there with you.  I would KILL for a pickle right now.  Not going to do it, though.  My next pickle will be the pickle from heaven

Thank you!. I needed a kick in the ass to remind myself to stick to the plan! I still can't wait for food again but I can wait a little longer to let my pouch heal. I can do it!

Thank you!!!!
