Post Op - Day 3
Well, OH i am now officially 3 days post op and feeling pretty good. I actually had to stay in the hospital an extra day due to my blood count...ok, also because I couldn't take all the liquid...but all in all not bad. The pain is definitely manageable. I was up and walking the halls of the hospital the first day...working on my half marathon . Today I am listening to all the advise and pushing liquid. Water is easy, I'm good with tea but every protein drink is SUPER sweet to me and I'm having issue. Any ideas on how the handle that?
I'm just about 2 weeks out, and I found the protein drinks too sweet also. I bought some unflavored Unjury and started adding that to chicken broth or beef broth - that's working for me.

Isopure is what they gave me in the hospital. I loved the staff they REALLY tried. Ever flavor I tried tasted like favored sugar...the dr said it happens so he moved me to premium protein shakes...diluted of course. Since it has less protein in a bottle I'm doing a mixture of watered down isopure, watered down premium protein and watered down broth w/protein...lol...I feel GREAT though.
I am so happy to hear this! I am heading in Wed morning for surgery so i am anxious wondering what its going to be like- for real- i have scoured the boards.
i have an unjury chicken soup flavor. i will bring a bit of that to the hospital along with my premier protein, and some of the other powders i have- i have unflavored, choc, straw, van, and coconut.
keep us posted.
