What's on your Saturday menu, RNYers?
Glad you're having a good weekend Juniper!
i have told myself that today I must get serious again about eating on plan. When I weighed this morning I was up 4 lbs, which of course is crap because I haven't eaten that many calories, but I haven't been strictly following my plan either.
I think in some ways I was doing so well when I thought surgery was imminent, but now June seems so far away...got to get my head back on straight.
B-two eggs with cheddar and pico; Irish tea with creamer
L-? Out getting groceries, might wait til I get home and just have some almonds or ham and cheese roll ups
D-steak and Caesar salad
cals: will be under 1200 for sure, maybe more like 1000 depending on lunch.
Consult Weight:276/Surgery Day Weight: 241.6 /Goal Weight: 150
It's hard. Really hard. Just remember, ever pound you lose now is a pound closer to goal. Getting a head start before surgery is a huge step up. I think you're doing great. Hang in there.

If I may offer a humble opine. I think you're way more on track than I was pre op. I had no plan, no discipline, or even self-honesty about my food issues.
I learned all of this post. I'm not proud of this, but I am impressed in anyone who is getting out in front of themselves. I honestly think you'll be fine post op. I did not even find this place until I was 2 months post op.
And right now, it's really hard for you to eat to "plan", but at least you're honestly approaching it.
Stay strong, you're gonna be on the other side in no time.
Your head is in the game pre-surgery....huge step. People who go in blindly with the attitude of I'll deal with it when I get there will be in trouble.
When I was on my presurgery plan if I felt I needed more, I just tried to have more of what I was allowed, not cake cookies etc. You are doing great.

Preop, those 4lbs swings are most definitely water. I used to marvel at how the scale could go up and down like that several times in a week. Now I'm up or down a few ounces at a time at most. I trust the scale, now.
However, it's great that you are paying such close attention to your plan and being honest. That is 99% of the game, post op.

Sounds like a fun vacation! My first vacation after RNY was to Vegas. It was really hard for me since it was upwards of 105 degrees daily and I didn't think to bring a water bottle. Add in the no drinking 30 minute before and after a meal- it left me grouchy quiet a bit since when i could drink I was accessible to something. Learned a valuable lesson since then about bringing my water bottle everywhere!!!
I'm working again today- but I won't next weekend.
M1: Greek Yogurt/pumpkin flax granola
M2: Protein shake
M3 & M4: ?? I took out chicken legs-- maybe those.

Hey Everyone,
I envy you Juniper, I have never been to any kind of large family gathering. Plenty of wonderful smaller ones, but never the big one yet.
I did learn how to eat right in a hospital cafe though. My wife had an earache yesterday. Long story short, yesterday was spent in the hospital. Pacing like an caged animal in a waiting room, drinking cups of black coffee while my wife was having a newly discovered Cholesteatoma behind her ear was removed. 3 bones taken from her ear and now having to decide between, a hearing aid, or more surgery. The pendulum is always in motion apparently.
She's in good hands though, our daughter has had 6 tumors behind her ear removed over the years. I been at this rodeo before.
Our family all gathered last evening at the cafe at Tacoma's St. Joseph's. I had a "protein salad". Skipped the grapes, ate the turkey. Got home and stared at the bottle of vodka the I never opened 7 years ago when I stopped drinking, for about an hour. It remains unopened this morning...barely.
Home again, all is better. Wife is sleeping hard, thank you pain pills. Back to life.
B: 1 egg
L: 1 can tuna, 1 inch of pickle
D: pot roast. I might eat 3 oz. HORSERADISH!!!!YAY!!!
Have a great day people. stay strong.
