Don't get sprung in the Spring!!

so today was a second unseasonably warm day here. The warmth led me outdoors, straight to the fruit food truck. I bought a smoothie, small, but that was still like 16-20oz. I even added the protein to it, but still it's a smoothie (sugar). The fruit looked so appealing too, so I picked up a small thing of watermelon. I needed to get cash out to fund all this, so I went to the drug store, normally I would have picked up candy to get cash back, but I steered clear.  Then on the way home kids called, they wanted water ice... Perfect end to an unseasonably warm day. After my fruit truck indulgence i decided I better stay away from the treats at the water ice stand too. And I totally missed my afternoon vitamins strolling around sipping my smoothie.

The afternoon had me alarmingly  aware of how much warm weather entices you to eat more. So my cautious advice... Don't get sprung in spring!

I am the opposite. I hate being hot and I hate the summer. Being hot makes me not want to eat. But, the Fall is another story. Apples, cider, doughnuts, and all things pumpkin are killers.

I am also the opposite. Winter is my tough season. Since reaching goal, I am always lightest in the spring. I think the nice weather makes me so happy to be outside doing things that I get too busy to eat.

I'm like Laura.  I lose weight in the spring and summer months.

At the first sign of good weather I'm out digging in the dirt and "playing" in my garden.  I'm from Wisconsin and it's been so warm that I have a few plants peeking through!  Unbelievable for March!  I find myself planning which plants to move and how many I need to buy this year.  Last year I put over 200 annuals in with my perennials.  I have HUGE flower beds.

I'm too busy to think about food in the summer.  The winter is another story.  I'm stuck inside and the temptation to eat is terrible.

Interesting that so many are opposite! Last spring I'd only just had surgey, so this is a new experience for me. I do remember in the summer being upset I couldn't partake in the 'foods of summer' (bbq stuff, potato salad,  ice cream, funnel cake etc). I see that same  desire budding as spring starts.

So i guess winter/fall isn't that big of a lure for me.

the seasonal foodie thing has never gone away for me even at 6 years out.

Whatevet the season food is, I want it.

But, like my mom always told us, " you are old enough for your wants not to hurt you".

Good advice!

This will be my first spring and summer and I know it will be a challenge.  There will be lots of family get-togethers with food. I jessy have to keep my focus on the meat and not in the pasta salads and snacks.  I host a lot,  so I'll be able to plan what we have,  so that should it make it easier.

I think all year round I know I can be taunted by certain foods.
