Question about poultry
Maybe give ground turkey a try. It cooks fast so may not dry out, I use it as taco meat and mix with salsa and cheese in a lettuce wrap or just eat it with a fork.

I've tried ground turkey and it treats me the same as chicken. I'm just going to hold off on any poultry for a while; I'm happy with fish and red meat.

Try again in a few months. I am just now doing better with chicken and I am almost a year out.
I thought I was doing fine with it around 5 months out and had a little bit of grilled chicken on an excursion in Hawaii. About 30 minutes later, I got nauseous and I could feel the slime building up in my pouch. I was stuck on a tour bus and thought I was going to start heaving. I made it back to the hotel and then took care of business, but it was a super painful bus ride!
I had my surgery 6 days after you and I STILL struggle with chicken and eggs too. I can eat turkey cubed or ground turkey and some red meat as long as I chew it very well.....my NUT started telling everyone to "chew for 22" meaning chew it 22 times before swallowing. I have a friend who is alomst 2 years out from the sleeve and still struggles with chicken. All of our bodies are differnt and process differently. I will say that the canned chicken I get from Costco is about the only chicken product I can tolerate BUT it sometimes is with issues as well.
A successful weight maintainer in our support group is almost ten years out and reports he still can't eat poultry. He also reports he can't chug water. He has a history of strictures. I am jealous of his inabilities to do what I have no problem with. Maybe consider yourself one of the lucky ones and wait forever.
I still have difficulty with chicken (especially if it's too dry)! and eggs. Weird because a steak goes down just fine - even if it's well done. Wait a few months and try again.

I intially had surgery 11 yrs ago and had that issue with Chicken only. I was told that chicken is harder to break down becuase of the multiple amino acids. I have since then had a revision surgery and still find chicken and eggs hard to digest. My suggestion is if it doesn't work for you don't force it. I would get really sick. one time I had chicken stay in my pouch for 6 hours and I finally just threw it up and that happened on numerous occasions through the years so I would pass up on chicken alot. Good luck.

As long as you are getting enough lean protein in and the other sources are pleasing to your palate, forget the chicken for now. Or at least do not make a meal out of it. Maybe add a shred of it to cottage cheese or something else to up the protein.
You also may find out that your tastes have changed and you really do not like chicken anymore. That's OK, you just have to get your protein in - chose foods that honor your body and your taste buds..
I love chicken, but grilled is too tough - and I'm over a year out. My fav: I put some tenders in a pan, poor low sodium spag sauce over it and bake it - a hole bunch of it and freeze it. It does not dry out and stays easy to chew.
