The hungriest I felt was a week or two after surgery. When I started on real food it disappeared. I have no idea what was causing it, but it was horrible.

Hang in there. It will get better.

It is very odd.  It's like my remnant stomach is hungry, but my pouch is full.  I'm hanging in there.  Just finishing my dinner 'tuna soup' and will be making some chamomile tea in about 30 minutes.

That was me on Sunday! I wanted to eat. That was it. I just wanted to eat. I'm still on liquid and it was still clear liquids.  I was so crabby! I tried to go out and do something and got so sick I had to come home. So my family was out and about while I was home whining! It was awful. BUT the next day I felt amazing. I had a ton more energy and felt much better. Hang in there and know that we will get through this!!!!

Thanks!  We will get thru it.  The tea is helping relieve some anxiety for me too.

Um...was this on your surgeons plan? Not judging because they are all so different, but week 1 for me was protein shakes and clear broths. Week 2 was protein shakes, clear broths and full broths (I dont even know what a full broth was (or is) so I just stuck to buillion). Week 3 was the same as week 2 but I got yogurt (I remember being super happy about that!). If I remember correctly, I didnt hit "real food" (pureed****il 3 weeks to a month out.

Maybe it is too early for purees?  I am not saying you are doing it wrong...I am saying...each plan is different as is each persons body response.

I never drank a protein shake but I sure !!!!! Did not eat half a cup of anything. If you also had yogurt how much did you actually eat? I also was I liquids for awhile. Your 'hunger' is thirst. Room temp skim milk worked for me.
