Burning in stomach

I am 9 months out and below my goal.  I am still on prilosec for burning in my stomach.  I can't seem to connect it to a specific food.  Anyone experience this?

Ask your doctor for a referral to a gastroentologist.  Burning in your stomach is not normal.

I went for my 1 year post op, and my doctor wants me to see a gastro to get scoped.

I have that.  I have that since my RNY.. I have been on PPI  on and off since my RNY..

the burning gets much worse if I eat food I am allergic to (i.e. dairy - like whey, cheese,or soy) or drink any alcohol, eat chocolate.. etc..

I finally found out why - my gut motility is not very good so food I eat just sits in my small intestines, causing troubles.

find good gastro ..

So what do you do for it?  My doctor said that we'll revisit it at the 12 month post op appointment.

It looks like I will be on PPI for life.

Mine acid burning is caused by low fit motility ..plus food allergies.

I would suggest you get tested for food allergies. They can really irritate your insides.

I found out that I am allergic to dairy (whey, cheese, yogurt..etc) ,  soy, and few others.

Alcohol - even small amounts - makes the burning unberable for a few days after I had any wine...

Some meds make it worse...

Finding what makes your condition worse and avoid it - may be a key.

hey DanaDenise, I couldn't understand whether whatever happening to you is a burning in sensation in your stomach or heartburn. But, I usually get such burning like feeling in my stomach...especially after having spicy food or too much water when I am empty stomach. I usually go for soda with water. Hope this will help you.
