What's On Your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
on 3/8/16 1:11 pm
When I lived in Somerville LaRonga bakery was at the bottom of the hill I lived on. The smell of fresh baked bread wafted in the house so strongly that it woke me up in the morning.

I would have moved the first day. The smell of fresh bread would have killed me. I used to make my own bread, english muffins, and pretzels. It's no wonder I was obese.
I think I can smell bread now . . .

Cadbury make anything bad? Those eggs are definitely made by the devil! What's even worse is the caramel filled and chocolate filled ones! Then the mini eggs too! OK I need to move on, I'm crumbling thinking about them! lol

Good morning all! AV, I'm adding my vote to the "just go home" group. When I had it, all I wanted to do was sit on the couch and snuggle with my dog. (although that's pretty much how I'd like to spend everyday). Anyway, hope you feel better soon! I have an appointment with my surgeon this afternoon to talk about my options for dealing with my GERD, which is out of control. Frankly, I don't like any of my options, so I'm assuming this appointment is going to suck. It is what it is, I guess!
Here's my food plan:
B: 2 eggs, 1.2 oz of cheese (getting burned out on the eggs, so back to turkey tomorrow, I think)
L: 3.9 oz left over new york strip and asian slaw
D: pork chop (aiming for 4 oz) and pear and gorgonzola salad
S: Light and fit and somersaults (I may try to sneak a SF vanilla latte in there because I have a free drink at Starbucks. will have to see if it fits in with my numbers.)
E: Kick boxing

Hi, Everyone! My kids were out of school for a long weekend. Now they are back in school, so now I am back here! I do so much better when I post here. As usual, today I have way too many things on my "to do" list--I just don't know where to start this morning. So I am starting by putting them all off a little more while I chat here on OH!
This afternoon should be a nice time: I am taking my high-school-senior-son to tour the Mechanical Engineering department of the university he thinks he wants to go to. He has been accepted by a few places, but is circling on this one. It is my alma mater, so it should be nice to visit and remember my own happy college days. It is a beautiful day here besides--sunny, though not warm. And, I really enjoy spending time with this son--he is a good buddy--and we don't see a lot of him because he is so busy with all his activities and friends (including a new girl, who we like a lot, happily).
Once home from the university, I will start my marathon driving around for the younger boys--Tuesday is always the crazy multiple-lesson day--today there is play practice, art lessons, voice lessons. But I tell myself that crazy Tuesday means more peaceful Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday!
We have had a lot of kids over lately--we always do--with my two younger boys being close in age, we are the hang-out house for the similarly-aged boys in the surrounding neighborhoods. I like this, although it adds a little (to a lot of) chaos. The past week, we have had loads of paper airplanes (Thanks, Klutz books/kits), and loads of shrinky-dink making (mostly various pokemon, traced from pix on the internet). Also plenty of board games and some new books. My middle son also had a voice recital--his voice in changing and he doesn't know from day to day how to manage it, but his song went well enough.
We have also been working hard to rake out our yard and get it and the porch ready for spring. The last of the snow in the yard melted yesterday--I won the family bet! We will lay some flagstone in our back yard this weekend.
Still dealing with lots of emotional/mental things (that I have alluded to before), but I am sleeping better lately. I had taken a break from my CPAP machine for a couple of months, thinking that the obstructive apnea was gone. I was lying to myself, of course, because although the obstructive apnea is not so much an issue, I have CENTRAL apnea, where my brain just shuts down my breathing when I go to sleep. So, back on the CPAP. I hate it, but I do sleep so much better with it. And I will probably have to use it the rest of my life, no matter how thin my body is. In fact, the sleep doctor feels that the lack of sleep from the central apnea is probably a huge contributor to my weight issues, so really--back to the hated CPAP for life.
Today's eating plan:
B: Fage yogurt (blood orange)
L: Asian chicken with cabbage salad
S: Kirkland cashew clusters
D: Pork chili verde with tomato and yet more cabbage.
as always, a little late..though I did manage to weigh in on todays QOTD. I am back to my under 200 mark after Sunday's ugliness. I keep remembering when Grim said to someone, unless you ate over 3500 calories you could not have gained a pound...he was right!!
vanilla bean protein shake with coffee
dashing dish shake(YUM!)
southwestern egg beaters with a slice of reduced fat swiss on a romaine leaf
trader joe's sweet basi pesto chicken sausage
lite & fit greek caramel macchiato
Cals: 627 Protein: 94 Carbs:22 Fat:19
When I get home from work I might have some diet hot cocoa or a quest cookie or 2. Trying to bring my cals to 700...
I have been following this post for many months and have decided to start contributing. I am 7 months out and keep losing and gaining back the same 2 lbs. for 2 months now. Hopefully, I can be more disciplined by planning and recording my meals.
QOTD-Never cared much for chocolate and those Cadbury eggs are entirely too rich.
Snack - 1/2 Isopure protein shake
