What's On Your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?

A good friend who is 5+ years post-RNY gave me the tip that when she tells people who she's doesn't want to tell, she emphasizes the life style changes and says she "worked with her doctor." I like that - eluding to the medical side of things, just not telling all the details. I've used it with people I don't know so well and thought might benefit from the idea of talking to their doctors and I feel like it's less of a half-truth....

If you have anxiety this could be your problem with getting rid of things. I totally fall into this category I shut down when there is too much to do. I am not saying you have this problem like me.

My therapist calls it fight of flight so I choose sometimes to hide from things that are overwhelming. I try to make a list of no more than five things so it doesn't freak me out. My bedroom closet can be such a pig pen. I made myself last week clean it. I felt so much better. I still have a ways to go on other things. I just try to focus on one thing at a time when it is a big deal.

I think you've hit the nail on the head with this one.  I'm working on it,  but it feels like a losing battle.

I absolutely love the crème eggs and the mini eggs oh my god they are so good.  Who am I kidding I love anything that is chocolate.  I haven't had any but I saw them yesterday at the store and I sure wanted one of the eggs.  So far I have been strong....I hope this strength continues.

Get home and rest AV,so you can kick this bug to the curb! And WOW NYmom on the 200 pounds! And just think, now you will great to go with it! Praying for a comfortable and safe trip home for you too! Take it easy please. In the past I would have inhaled either the mini eggs or the creme eggs, but the Cadbury creme eggs were my favorite! I loved the gooey interior! Definitely came from the devil as they always call my name and try to jump in my cart. Luckily I know how sick they would make me now and that keeps me far far away! Post op 42 months and weight at 122.2 pounds. Exercise will be 3.2 miles at the park in a bit and 30 minutes on the treadmill. Ugh, stomach viruses are awful.  Here's to a speedy recovery, AV.

This morning, after weeks of paperwork, my nephew started at the local High School. I got there and expected them to give me all this information about his classes and such, but they gave it all to him.  Apparently in H.S. you are assumed to be old enough to handle these things by yourself.  While I know it makes sense, this doesn't sit well with my obsessive, controlling nature. I'll have to scan everything when he gets home so that I know I have all the information I may need.   It's a relief to have him finally in school.

Count me among those that find the Cadbury eggs gross.  I've never tried the minis.

Check to see if the school had an online portal where you can see his grades whenever you want. My 16 year is currently grounded for grades,  lol.

Thanks!  I will check that out.  So far I found the portal to put lunch money in his account.  There's probably something very telling about the fact that one of my first priorities was making sure he had access to food.  Every kid has a number (the school is HUGE) so I'll see if that number can get me access to grade info.

LOOOVE cadbury eggs. My sister is more in love with them than me and will buy them the day after easter and puts them in the freezer to have for several more months. I can also take 30 min to eat an entire thing (before surg of course) I have to eat the chocolate around it until the goo starts coming out then eat the rest of it.

Sorry you are sick AV!Hope you feel better soon.

Leaving tomm for Ohio for work. I will need to pack and figure out what to wear. People there have not seen me since surgery so it might be a shocker for some. not looking forward to getting up at 3-4 AM to get to the atlanta airport though.

Soo- yesterday I jogged (though very slow) a total of 1.75 miles including my warmup and cooldown. More than 15 seconds would have been impossible before the surgery. My first 5k is on May 1. I know I will be super slow on my time but as long as I fini**** I don't care. I can always get faster. It is at a winery and you get to run through the vines. I won't be partaking in the wine tasting after but might bring DH and he can have mine.

Once again- not planned ahead.

Been having small pouch days, and my cal have been under 600- But the scale is moving so I will not complain. I was kind of feeling like I was eating for the sake of eating and I didn't like that.
