I would measure and only take in what you are supposed to. they just cut all your nerves so you wont feel full.

I measure everything.  I'm following the diet plan given to me by the dietician.  But some people say they had a hard time getting a cup of water in for the first week.  I feel full.  I feel gas.  I stop when I feel like my pouch us full.  Small baby spoon bites.  Takes me a good hour-hour and a half per meal.  But I've really been working at my goals since surgery, but I flew through everything, surgery was fast, recovery was literally 15 mins, I was up and walking that day.  Between meals I sip on my water or protein shakes.

I never really had issues drinking anything initially either. I didn't meet goals, but my doc wasn't about goals initially, more about habit.

one rule I had (have) from my group was take no more than 30 minutes to eat. Eating over a prolonged period can allow you to eat more.

Our manual says to set aside 60-90 minutes for a meal.

Don't sweat it, as long as you aren't;eating it too quickly or having too large a quantity at one time, go for it. Yay!

Further down the road an hour is too long for a meal.

Is that 1/2 liter of water? If that's what it is, you need much more. 4 times as much.

Good to know.  I got almost a liter of water in.  My book says to aim for at least 500 Mls at first and build up to 2000 mls.

some people were saying I was pushing it so was a bit scared.
