YOUR HELP IS MUCH NEEDED / APPRECIATED
That's pretty much how I've been since having RNY February 1st I dry heave every single night, I feel sick after eating any type of food, but I never throw up the food I just dry heave. I've talked to my doctor he said it's pretty common and to also common to be super sensitive to food smells, etc. When I'm at the kitchen sink dry heaving I always feel like what have I done to myself but then during the day when I'm feeling better I'm not so worried about it the doctors office did call me out the nausea medication but it didn't really help and it was also flavored like nasty liquid medicine and I could have kicked him for that because my main issue was the dry heaving why would I want to take something nasty flavored, only to make me sick. The only time I feel good is if I avoid food altogether, I'm 48 I hope your daughter gets better I hope I get better, for some reason cold iced tea goes down pretty good for me but other liquids not so much so I'm not dehydrated because I can drink a lot of iced tea.

It took me four months before I could tolerate dense foods. I truly lived on applesauce and puddings mixed with protein powders and protein shakes. I second the suggestions that she makes sure she is well-hydrated and on a PPI. However, she could just be one of the few, like me, that have a harder time adjusting. If she finds a food she can not tolerate, make sure she waits a full 24 hours before trying another, to give the inflammation in her pouch time to heal.
