What's On Your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
Good Morning! Little boxes of yummy! I didn't eat any last year and don't plan on any this year either. I would have a 3-way tie with Thin Mints, peanut butter sandwich and the ones with caramel/chocolate and coconut (tag-a-longs I think). A funny story, about 7 years ago my daughter happened to get the stomach flu after she had ate a few of the thin mints, well she was too young to know it wasn't from the cookies so she wouldn't eat "Girl COW cookies" for a few years.

LOL @ Girl Cow cookies! A coworker and I were discussing just yesterday how much we miss the little speech things our kids did when they were little. We still call Goldfish crackers 'bo-bish' because we can't not do that. LOL
Oh man, Elliot (our 2 year old) is in speech therapy for a delay, and we are supposed to say how things are SUPPOSED to be said. But he calls my Mom NAMMY instead of Grammy, and I just CANNOT WILL NOT correct him, it is so friggin cute!
Posting a bit late today because weatherman was predicting worsening weather so Lily and I got ourselves to the park and got our 3.2 miles in early. Temp was 49 when we started and 36 when we finished an hour later. Wind is picking up too. Post op 42 months and weight at 122.2 today. Rest of exercise will be 30 minutes on the bike and 1.25 miles on the treadmill early evening. My favorite girl scout cookies are the Samoan although I wouldn't really have turned down any before surgery! Here's the food plan for the day B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz tuna with a bit of mayo 1/2 c mushrooms D 31/2 oz ground turkey with parses an cheese and 1/2 c Chinese veggies S Greek yogurt. Had a sample of some sort of protein cookies for a snack last night and they were disappointing. Tasted pretty much like cardboard and my blood sugar had tanked this morning when I got up. Don't think I'll be buying any of those anytime soon! Did get a phone call from my rheumatologist office yesterday afternoon and they submitted the appeal for my medicine with a demand for an expedited response so we should know by Wednesday whether they will authorize Humira or if we get to get back on the find a medicine that works merry go round again. Praying for a positive response for sure! Have a great day everyone and make some smart choices!
Hmm- My fav are tagalongs, samoas, do si do's) I would even eat the shortbread and any other one there was.Staying clear away from them now. Thin mints are my least favorite.
I did make my DH banana bread this weekend. I've been having a hard time smelling it. I want to devour it and can't.
Made a faux chicken pot pie last night with carrots, peas, chicken, and cream of chicken. Not sure exactly what the cause was, but I think the cooked carrots made me ill? Not puking, but feeling icky. Will have to stay away from them for now.
I booked my FIRST jogging 5K last night! It is May 1. It is at a local winery and you run through the vines~ How cool is that!
I've done one other 5k and it was probably 10 years ago- walked it all and barely made it.

Morning everyone. caramel delights of course no question. Haven't had any now but before I could eat a whole box I loved those things. I bought one of those air fryers and used it last night. The wings were amazing. Does anyone else have one? What have you cooked in it? Looking for suggestions.

Once upon a time in the early 1960s, Girl Guide cookies were different. You could choose from vanilla wafers or vanilla sandwiches. Chocolate sandwiches (like skimpy Oreos) came along later. I haven't encountered Girl Guide cookies for years, but I love cookies so all of the new flavours would be my favorites!
Food:
B: quick steel cut oats with added protein
L: salmon and zucchini
D: chicken thigh and frozen mixed berries
S1: HB egg; S2: banana

Hi OH,
I was traveling last week and haven't been able to post. I was in Vegas (for work) and Zion National Park (for fun). I will post a pic on Photo Friday. Never in a million years would I imagine that I would book a vacation that revolved around hiking! I got a lot of steps in and the scenery was gorgeous! I am up 1.5 lbs, not shockingly after eating out for a week straight, but working (per usual) to get back on track.
I love Samoas and tag-a-longs. My RVP of Sales was selling them for his daughter - I bought 5 boxes and said to give 2 to the troops. I then proceeded to eat all of the tag-a-longs and brought the Samoas to a friend's since clearly I could not have them around!!!
Time Since Surgery: Over 2 years
B: Two hard boiled eggs, 1 tbsp mayo, coffee with half and half
L: TBD, have no groceries and will pop over to the market after my lunch gym class
D: Spicy cashews, sticky wings and perhaps some Chinese broccoli
E: An interval training class at lunch
Totals are only 33 g of protein so lunch is gonna have to be some chicken or shrimp, straight up. Or maybe tuna. I always love tuna, with lots of onion in it. I will try to stay around 1,500 calories, or less.
Have a great day, all!
Good morning! So far I have resisted the call of the girl scout cookie. It was a close call last night as they were camped out in front of my local grocery store. Luckily, this store has a two level parking garage and I parked on level one, the girl scouts were on level two, so I could put my avoidance plan into action. One of the attorneys in our office has a daughter who is a scout and there have been open boxes of cookies in our kitchen EVERY DAY. So far, I haven't had a single cookie. KQOTD - I do love the thin mints, particularly out of the freezer, but my absolute favorite is the chocolate covered, peanut butter ones . . . yum
Here's my plan:
B: Scrambled egg with cheese
L: Chicken Thigh meat
D: New York Strip and ceasar salad
S: Dannon light and fit and Skinny vanilla latte
E: Kick boxing
Totals: Cal: 879; Protein: 89g; fat: 47g; Carbs: 38g
