Yay, we made it to the weekend! It was such a long week, and I am totally excited for a few days of rest and relaxation (and to scrub my house from top to bottom to make sure there are no lingering cold virus germs!).

I saw my surgeon yesterday and had my 6 month labs read. All good, except for a lingering low stored iron. I use the patch for my multi and take an additional two slow FE iron pills a day, but for some reason I just can't seem to raise that stored iron. But all-in-all she is super happy that all my other vitamins are on the high side of normal and that in under 7 months, I have already hit our weight goal of a "normal" BMI. She warned me that I should expect my weight loss to slow to a crawl from here on out, but I'm hoping to crush those predictions. I'm already 2lbs below goal, and think I can go another 8 or so, so that I can get to the low range of a "normal" BMI.

I took Nyquil last night and I slept much later than usual. I usually get up around 4am (stupid work), but this morning I slept until 7am! My poor cats were beside themselves. I woke up to the usually shy one, gently touching my face with her paw. I think she was poking me to see if I was alive. Ha. She was all sweetness and cuddles until I finally rolled out of bed to feed her. She ate like a pig, and now she's back to hiding. I guess I can see why people don't like cats, but I think they are hilarious.

Exercise

Hmm, now that I am feeling better I guess I have to haul my ass back into the gym. I haven't been running in almost 2 weeks because of my hacking cough, but I guess I will try a slow run on the treadmill and see how that goes. The surgeon also recommended that I increase my muscle mass, and start doing more circuit training, so I guess I will do a round of that, too. ....can you hear the excitement in my voice.....?

Good morning JB. Good news on your labs, but you aren't alone on the iron. Iron is the slowest to move upward, and some people just don't absorb it very well at all, no matter which variety they use. Mine is creeping up after it bottomed out in December.

The last few pounds always crawl, but I have no doubt you'll end up wherever you want. You've been kicking butt so far.

Same old food for me today. Meat some other kind of meat, maybe a third kind of meat and cheese. I was going to get movie popcorn too, but had to cancel. Maybe tomorrow.

If the cats get too hungry, they'll eat your eyeballs first. Just sayin'.

Cats are such odd creatures. We have a brother sister pair and they are as different as day and night. The boy constantly tries to run outside after dark and the female wouldn't go outside if you left the door standing open for 10 minutes. However, she comes and sits by the door so she can greet you when you come back in! She will wake me up by tapping my face at night to let her under the covers. And she won't stop until you do! Supposed to be a bit warmer here today so Lily and I will definitely get our 3.2 miles in at the park. I will also ride the bike 30 minutes and do 1.25 miles on the treadmill as I will have no time tomorrow to exercise as I have things going on all morning, afternoon and won't get home until about 730. So I need to be as active today as I can. Here's the food B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz deli turkey and cheese with 1/2 c broccoli D 31/2 oz baked chicken with 1/2 c oriental veggies S Greek yogurt. Have a great day full of smart choices!

L:Cookies and cream Quest bar. I am not sure if this is a good idea since they are so good

I'm at work, and ready to bang my head against a wall with all the errors and crap that need to be fixed!!!

I LOVE my circuit training routine- and am actually sad I couldn't go this morning like usual. i will tonight though. I'm pretty pleased with the muscle i feel 'beneath' the skin.

Meal wise today:

M1: 2 egg scrambled in the microwave and 2 turkey sausage-- I don't know what it was about making them in the microwave but I couldn't finish them. I can't eat two eggs no problem when i cook them on the stove-- but in the microwave the fluffed out super huge, I could barely eat that + the sausage.

M2: Protein shake

M3: ??

M4??

Don't know why but I've always found the circuit training so boring. And I never know if I have the weight settings right or not. Maybe if I do it more often...?

I'very always found weights boring. I did it while I was losing, to preserve muscle mass, but it's boring. I would rather dig holes all day than lift weights.

I can do an hour on my recumbent bike, or walk ten miles. But not weights.

Some days I think we can eat more than others. I sometimes am glad when I can't eat that much. It shows me my tool is working.

I am proud that you miss going to the gym. That is a good thing.

I am up 2 pounds but I am sure it is from the surgery. Kibda bummed but I will just keep plugging away. Plus, my husband keeps trying to feed me!!  I know he is just worried but when you feel like crap you don't want to eat.

I am for sure having my new favorite thing. A cup ofdecaf chai topped with a scoop of vanilla protein... So amazing!

Otherwise I don't know. Probably a chicken patty because I love them.
