6 month stall, advise please.

I don't know what/how much you are eating -- so assuming that you are under 800 calories/+80 g protein a day and less than 40 grams of carbs a day -- I have found that when I hit a bit of a stall (and I did around 6 months for a couple of weeks), it sometimes helps to cut back on the exercise for just a bit. Why? Because sometimes it actually makes me more hungry. Additionally, it kind of tricks my body into losing again -- rather than holding on to everything I am taking in. Now, I don't mean just quit completely -- but I would cut down a bit or skip a day for a week or two -- and that usually helped jump start me. Then, as soon as I started to move again --- I ramped it up a bit for a week or so.
Hope that helps.

Thank you Kat for the suggestion. I have been exercising 2-3 times more and every day trying to drop a pound and it is really so much for the effort. I even walked 25000 steps the other day and was so sore. I will give it a try. I do eat 800cals a day and get my protein in. I do have 70-90 carbs a day. I have been eating fruit more because of constipation. I will need to cut back on that. I have some tweaking to do and see what works. I am glad you found a way. I will give your suggestions a try.
Thanks for your help

In my experience, exercise is great for my overall health, but it really has very little to do with my loss. It's all about the food -- and for me -- fruit is definitely very minimal until maintenance. I have meticulously weighed and logged about 800 days into MyFitnessPal -- so I am very keen on my macros. If I am over 45 grams of carbs or at 855 or more calories -- I am firmly in maintenance. I have noticed that it's a lot harder for me to stay where I need to if I am over doing it in the exercise department -- because I am really hungry!
It sucks, but at least I know what I need to do.
I hope your stall breaks quickly. They are so discouraging but they do pass.

I actually got a prescription for Miralax --polyethylene glycol 3350 -- because my insurance covers it. Otherwise, the cheapest over-the-counter I have found was at Sam's Club (3 bottles for 19.99).
It isn't habit forming and isn't a laxative. I swear by it. It's absolutely tasteless, too.

I take daily miralax and magnesium to deal with constipation... Fruits have too many carbs and calories..

A couple things about breaking a stall...Just what I've seen over the years. Add a small amount of extra protein (example 1 or 1/2 protein shake with milk during the day). The other trick that I found for breaking the stall...Ready...You'll think I'm nuts. But hard physical work would break my stalls the next day. Things like cleaning out a car or the garage...Washing windows, cleaning the fridge, prune shrubs or trees. You end up using muscles you don't normally use with these projects. It works those muscles and builds them up (toning) while releasing the fat (if you keep watching the food intake). Good luck on your journey. Brian
