Did you have a list of questions?
Did you make a list of questions for the surgeon when you went the first time? I have a thousand questions pop up but always forget to write them down when I think of them. Now I can't remember most of the really good ones. Can someone give me some examples of what to ask? I know I'm asking about my prior surgeries (c-section, etc.).
Thanks for all the help. Y'all have been so supportive!
I kept them on a postit note app on my phone and added to it whenever I thought of something.
My main questions were:
Will I have any lift restrictions post-op? For how long?
How long after can I begin to workout/how long until aggressively working out?
How long should I be off of work?
After surgery, who do I call with questions or concerns?
What is my schedule for follow up appointments?
What vitamins/supplements are required after surgery? (This will give you a lot of insight into what the doc really knows about bariatrics - if s/he says Flintstones, run the other way!)
What complications have you seen with this type of surgery? How common are these complications?
Do you offer support groups pre and post op?
How long will I need pain medication post op?
Everyone has lots of questions.
- Is your nurse married?
- What's the capitol of Morocco?
- Did you go to a real medical school, or one of those foreign ones?
- How about your receptionist, is she married?
