What's On Your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
I used to own a 4 foot long ball python when my oldest was a baby. My ex-husband killed it on accident when he tried to feed it a baby bird that fell out of a tree. Well, apparently, ball pythons should not eat baby birds. I'm not afraid of snakes, but they are not my favorites either. My ex also bought my oldest 5 garter snakes in a little cage when he was 4 years old. They were tiny baby snakes, and they ate earthworms, so pretty easy to care for. Those little things were so good at getting out and we'd have to round them up. One morning I woke up to my 4 year old with a few snakes in each hand dangling over my face. "Morning momma" omg, not a great way to wake up. LOL
Anyway, I finally made them go let the snakes go in the back yard. They had gotten out and were only able to find 4 of them. A few months later, I was sitting in my computer room and I look over and there is a garter snake drinking out of the dogs water di****hat snake had survived in my house for months. It was winter by that time and I wasn't willing to throw him out into the snow to die, so he stayed with us until springtime, then got let go in the yard.
Also, in my early 20's I had a pet rat named Hershel. He was so cute, I got him as a baby and he would sit on my shoulder. He wasn't a gross looking sewer rat, but he was white with grey spots on him. He ended up getting cancer and dying, which is actually pretty common with domesticated rats, as they are very inbred. I still have the "birth certificate" I got when I adopted him from the breeder. It has his little foot prints on it.
