Overeating and starting to gain 2.75 yrs post op.

Maybe I look at this differently than others. I see obesity like diabetes. I am in remission right now, but it is always there, lurking just behind me. I believe the choices i make postop (and getting the weight off) will either pull into further into the foreground/into my reality (i.e. I gain weight again) or pu**** further back into the background/past (i.e. I maintain my weight or get thinner).  Every bite, every snack, every leg lift, every stride, every plank affects my immediate reality.

And these thoughts keep me invested enough in the battle so I dont get bored. Do I get sick of fighting every day? Hell yes! But I cant say I am bored. How can the victorious be bored with victory?

I'm like you.  I view my obesity as a chronic disease like diabetes.  However, I don't see myself as in remission.  My disease is as active as ever, and has to be managed every single day.  I will never be cured.  I will never be in remission.  Obesity is something I will have to manage at every single meal, every day for the rest of my life.  Do I wi**** were otherwise?  Of course.  But these are the cards I have been dealt, so it is up to me what I do with them.  I'm determine to make the right choices.  Here is to hoping I do.

Is this directed to me?

If so, I fear I am getting to that age in which I wont be able to have any. I am about to turn 40.

Yeap.   Well then... no children... never say no.. unles you or your DH has been "fixed". My 44 y old friend just had a child. Not planned.  They gave up a while back... when she started gaining weight and had nausea - she went to the doc...  a while back she was told she will not have children... Universe proved her wrong..

then come the next step ..hormonal changes...

Hala --- I love you but you just made me spit my coffee.

God forbid.

I just had a bunch of tests and the doctor insists I am no where near menopause.  I laughed and refused BC.  Maybe I should rethink that.

I feel sick.

you better be carefull..

My other friend - much younger - went to have her tubes tied.    Yea.. right there, before the procedure she found out she was pregnant.  That was her second kid - he is 3 years old now.

Just a month ago talk to a friend in UK - she was really sick - went to have EGD, because she could not keep any food down..  yeap. unplanned. She is 3 months prego now...  and she has ulcers an H-pylori... that until the kid is big enough - she can't take antibiotics for that...

I had an early miscarriage and talked with my doctor about birth control.  I was to start after my next period, which never came of course.

My daughter had a baby in April and a few months later made an appointment for an IUD.  Went in for the IUD and they did the required pregnancy test.  Yup, pregnant.  Almost had Irish twins but Sophia was born a few weeks after Kaci's first birthday.
