Freaking out that I now need cardiac clearance for surgery

Hello everyone, my name is Wendy and I'm a newbie on here. I have read a lot of the posts and comments on here and it's helped me a lot through this long process. I am currently waiting for surgery date because now I need a cardiac clearance. But from my understanding my EKG and stress test came back normal, now I'm hearing the EKG was border line. So the surgeon wants a clearance from the cardiologist. I'm just freaking out don't know what to expect and just wondering if maybe someone has gone through or had a similar situation. Any help is greatly appreciated thank you?

I had something similar happen to me. I had a panic attack and an irregular EKG, but my stress test was fine. They then a few months later decided I needed clearance, which essentially really meant a clean EKG. I just went to the Cardiologist and had a quick EKG and that was it. I do have to go back in another 8 months for another one, but they were good to go with a clear EKG.

Most people need to do this, and it's almost never a problem. But really, this is just to ensure your own safety. You want to make sure there are no complications, right?

Of course the safer the better, I'm just concerned that I was told my ekg was normal now it's borderline but as you say it may not be anything. Probably just freaking out over nothing. Thanks for the comment 

My surgeon requires a cardiologists clearance on everyone. I have had a "little something" on my EKG for years and have had several surgeries including this one.

Had same thing happen and I freaked. Then realized he was just being cautious. Sign of a good surgeon. Just chill and you will be fine

I needed cardiac clearance and a stress test also - to this day, I believe my insurance company thought I would just give up!

Anyway, the test came back with the remark that I had "limited capacity for exercise." 

Well THAT was news!!

The cardiologist added the comment that I was an excellent candidate for WLS and had no cardiac symptoms that would pose a risk.
