Yes I think there are different labeling of stages. My soft was the yogurt, cottage cheese etc. My pureed stage I just mashed or chopped finely and then onto real food by 4 weeks except raw veggies.

Hi! My food stages were:

1- full liquids/purees

2- soft foods

3- diet for life

At my 2 week post op I was told to move on the soft foods and quite frankly try new things as I was comfortable but stay away from dense chicken and red meats. Some of my faves: Cottage cheese, string cheese, canned tuna/chicken with light miracle whip, flaky fish (I like Gorton's simply bake tilapia or salmon), hard boiled eggs, carb master yogurt (Kroger), imitation crab, etc. I try new things as I want while sticking to my plan. I had lean lunch meat for lunch and soft/moist turkey meatballs (purchased frozen) for dinner. I made my first batch of Eggface's egg bites (the Denver version) tonight and they will be delicious and soft. My surgeon/clinic is a Center of Excellence and I've done well so far! I chew my food well and go very slowly with new things, even when they're soft. Unfortunately, I haven't had any good luck with quick meals out. I take protein shakes (premiere protein aren't bad) with if I'm going somewhere away from home for a while. I did have a hamburger (no bun) at McDonald's once only because I didn't plan ahead after being out all day at a birthday party and was feeling low blood sugar/shaky. I will not make a habit of that but it was the best I could do in that instance.

I am 3 months post op and still have to eat some soft foods because the regular transition diet isn't working so well for me.  I eat greek yogurt, cottage cheese....soft cheese like baby bells or fresh mozerella....refriend beans...they also have a refired black bean version that is awesome...cream soups, I know others will say no to this but I found that adding a scoop of unflavored protien power to it helped with protien...and at least it was something....I did VERY FEW mashed potatoes, and when I did I added protien powder to those as well with a little soup over the top of it...like a modified mashed potatoe and gravy kinda thing.  I still struggle with eggs in general so that was not a good option for me! I ate cream of wheat thinned or malt of meal thinned with powder as well....everyone is different and our bodies all respond differently to surgery.....so listen to your body!  I still drink 1/2 to a full protien shake a day....the Muscle Milk light you can get at most Costcos I think.

Hey All,

Excited that today I move into soft foods but really have no clue what to eat, any advice would be helpful. What do your meals usually consist of? Any good recipes? Also any quick places I can grab something from now?

Thanks

I'm sorry that you have no clue
