What the crap?
Well then if you know the "system" what exactly are you doing to improve it, because people should not have to hounds doctors and their staff to get good medical care. My husband recently went through a health scare and has now been to at least 6 different doctors, 2 mri's, cat scans, ultra sounds, and other tests that truly sound barbaric to me only to have no diagnosis and more doctors brought into his team. His bariactric surgeon is completely useless in my opinion, and she had the audacity to ask him to be one of her success stories. I said no, not unless she plans on paying him. What bariactric Doctor isn't concerned with your urine? How hydrated, passing ketones, etc? She has never once checked his urine, he has every symptom of dehydration and his primary orders an mri? What? Once he comes down with a bladder infection, which he diagnosed himself, a whole new battery of tests began. All to tell him he is fine and has the brain of a thirty year old. Hmmm what about his symptoms? Seriously the medical community is ****** I begged my doctor in Connecticut to move with me to California since I trust no one here.
Yikes. I'm sorry if I said or did something to offend you personally.
I work hard everyday and do a good job. I follow up with problems and issues and try to fix them. I don't pass people off to fix it themselves.
And I happen to agree with you, people shouldn't have to follow up to get good care, but no one is a better advocate for you than you!
Lastly, we do have access to some of the best medical care in the world...I wouldn't trade it for any other country's any day of the week.

Just don't live in California. I see nothing good about the medical community here so far, I see lots of expensive tests taken but obvious things like the fact my husband has altered anatomy not considered. You said you work in the medical community, I asked what you are doing to change the system where you have to constantly ask to get answers, your analogy about the squeaky wheel not mine. I find the process in California to be driven by getting test upon test upon test to no answer, I feel bad, my husband was lightheaded and dizzy, that was his only symptom and his wls Doctor dismissed him. His primary sent him for lots of scans, then the specialists, it's an endless loop with no answers. I have literally never witnessed such care, I loved my doctor, I cried the day I told her I was getting married and moving to California and I begged her to come too. I wish she would. If you are seeking rny I would seriously reconsider altering your anatomy, it is not wise, go the vsg route you don't have nearly as much problem if you develop any medical problem down the road. Believe me I know personally I spent two weeks in two hospitals with two different surgical teams over a simple bile duct blockage and what would be an out patient ercp for a normal anatomy patient.
Super happy you got some results. Sometimes a little reminder is what it takes. You go girl. You have been doing your part!
Waiting to hear your good news!!
My paperwork took about a week to actually get to the insurance company. I too called the insurance to check on it and it wasn't even there yet. Believe me, I was not about the wait a couple weeks just to call and find out it was never received! I normally am not the "squeaky wheel" person, but in this case I am squeak- squeak- squeaking!!
