What's on your Saturday Menu, RNYers?

Good Saturday morning, everyone!

I am simultaneously feeling rotten while I suffer through a bad winter cold, and elated...because without eating much for a few days, I am totally rocking some weight loss this week! Ha. Officially down a full pound from last weekend, which seems like a miracle because as I get closer and closer to a final weight, it feels like it takes forever to lose a pound. So this cold is officially a mixed blessing and curse.

I think I am finally feeling well enough to leave the house today and we are considering going to the movies. Any suggestions?

B: Fit Frappe Espresso with decaf (x2)

S: almonds & babybel cheese

L: butternut squash lasagna (without the noodles)

Good Morning! I finally got a decent night sleep. What a difference it makes. I am the last person to ask about movies, as the last movie I went to was "Deadpool". Best Movie in years. But I cannot recommend it because it may not be your cup of tea.

I'm glad for you that your cold is getting better. It sucks being sick. But, it is great to lose the last few pounds. I think I'm gonna end up at like 175 instead of 205 like I thought. I mean, it was just an arbitrary number when I was like 402.

B: an egg, 1 entire egg!

L:3 oz tuna, 1 inch of pickle

D:Chuck roast, napa cabbage

S:Cheddar cheese and 4 pork rinds

Have a great day!

I thought I was going to end up at 250, maybe 225, but instead have been at 190 for 3 years now. Don't intentionally try to stop, just see where you end up.

There's nothing like being sick to lose a little weight!

I'm glad you're feeling a little better. Of the more recent movies, I was pleasantly surprised at how good "The Finest Hours" was. I liked it a lot. And 13 Hours, Spotlight, The Big Short, The Revenant, and The Lady in the Van were all good. Hail Caesar was just OK. I didn't like Carol much. If you never saw Brooklyn, it's still at a few theaters, and might be the best movie of the past year.

Race just opened, and looks very good. And Showcase theaters are having 75th anniversary showings of The Matlese Falcon!

I like movies.

I am still stewing my emergency surgery for a bowel obstruction didn't result in any kind of significant weight loss.  Maybe because I went down, got fixed, and kicked out all within a 24-hour timeframe.  Cheated.  On another note, I'm a rare movie-goer but decided to jump the gun and see an "academy movie" beforehand instead of years later.  The Revenant started out violent, 20 minutes later was violent, one hour later was still violent, and ended violent.  Part of the decision to go see it was the mention of beautiful scenery?? totally baffled !!

I liked Revenant, but don't get all the Raves and academy award nominations. I'm glad I saw it, but it's not one of those movies I can see again. Some movies I'll happily watch over and over. I was good with once. The Finest Hours was much better.

I trust your advice.  "The Finest Hour," got it.  Oh yeah, what's on my Saturday Menu?  Same 'ol stuff-- Greek yogurt w/ walnuts, Nutribullet smoothie, meat, eggs, salad, and most importantly Miralax-infused water.  Thanks again to all who offered advice on putting our house back on the market.  Today, some college students are dragging their dads to come look at it.  If you care to check it out, google MLS 15-2475  Norton Avenue in Minnesota.  Wish us luck.

Lady in the Van wasn't as good as I hoped. Maggie Smith is always worth watching though. Kendall? Enjoy.
