What's On Your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
About 7-8 years ago we bought a look alike tempurpedic. It is memory foam and we do like it. My DH and I have back issues so it was important to get something good. We will look into possibly getting a casper.com one next.
At the oakland airport now waiting to fly to LAX then atlanta. Will be happy to be home- driving in san francisco was scary and stressful so looking to get back to woods and chickens and cows lol.
Been eating pretty well since I've been here- mostly all seafood/pork/chicken, I also found out I could run for at least 5 minutes at a time last night- week 4 of the c25k....
B: got a bacon egg and gouda cheese roll thingy and threw off the roll. 175 cal- not terrible
S: 1/2 powercrunch bar or moon cheese

Arriving late to the party, as usual. It just takes a while for the routine to settle in here, and my time zone must be later than many of you.
QOTD: Queen mattress, about 8 years old. Gel top. I both like and dislike it. Next time, we will not buy a gel top. I like the queen size, because like PeachPie said, King can be so lonely. Plus, we have a really pretty wooden queen-sized bed frame. But I wonder if we are headed the King way next mattress purchase. Both my husband and I are sleeping less well as we age--we notice more when the other moves.
I am still recovering from my procedure last week, and I also got a nasty UTI, maybe from being dehydrated due to the procedure. Also, plenty of anxiety! This will always be here, due to family dynamics, but sometimes it is stronger than other times. Also, too much Valentine's Day candy. Any is too much. I ate 6 sweet heart conversation hearts this morning! And now that I have to write about it here, I have just thrown the rest of the bag down the garbage disposal.
Now 14 mos out, my loss has slowed, but I am striving for 1 lb/week, which White Dove assures me can be done! On track for this month.
I am really enjoying my kettle bell work with the trainer. I am ready to graduate to doing some of these workouts at home, and I will buy some of my own kettle bells this weekend. Although my chronic Achilles injury still causes me a lot of grief, I have been able to do daily walks with our pup this week. Sometimes just 20 min, but sometimes longer. Those morning walks make me soooooo happy, and they make the pup happy too.
Today's menu (we have so many yummy leftovers in the fridge, I can hardly choose):
B: Already in the belly: scrambled egg with cheddar and 1 slice whole wheat banana bread.
L: Chicken/brocolli/curry casserole
D: Chicken thigh with cucumbers and small portion of brown rice
S: Ricotta bake
On track with liquids and vitamins. I am trying to really up my water to high levels to help flush out this UTI.
Happy Thursday!
Oh! And, we are buying a new car tomorrow! Already have it on hold at the dealership! Have been shopping and narrowing since last fall. Chose a Toyota Highlander. A big expense, but exciting! This is to replace our 2001 Honda minivan that has 200K miles on it and a failing transmission. She was a fabulous companion for our growing family, and we have certainly had 15 full years of low-maintenance use from her! But it is time to send her on her way to someone who appreciates all her non-transmission goodness, wants to do-it-yourself-fix her transmission for less than we can pay the repair shop, and who will reincarnate her to what I expect will be many more years of life in some other role.
OMG! I'm late to the post and there are SIXTY-ONE responses?! Ok, I haven't read any of them yet...
Personally, I like my mattress to basically be hard as a rock - no pillow top for me. I have a foam Ikea mattress that I'm in love with. I also have this base from Ikea that is like a chaise lounge, you can lift the head up (but then you have to pull it all the way up to lower it back down), which I love. I basically always sleep with my head a little elevated and when I want to read or watch tv in bed I can sit it up majorly. It was AMAZING when I was healing post-op because I didn't have to try to lay flat and get up from laying flat.

I hate the 3rd Thursday of the month - I start with a 9am meeting and end with a 7pm and there's never any break! In addition to those two meetings I also have a meeting for our school district's comprehensive planning this evening from 5-7pm so it's going to be AWFUL.
Ugh.

Ugh, been gone for a few days, just too much going on. Went to my doc for my two-month follow up yesterday. All pleased with my weight loss, but I got told to relax on my running a bit and add another protein shake to my day. I hate them. I'm starting to think my nutritionist just wants to torture me.
QOTD: I hate all mattresses, haven't found one I like for more than a couple of months. The one we have now we've had for like ten years and it was supposed to be a competitor to the sleep number bed, but it's horrible and I can't even remember the name.
I just suffer and try to compensate with pillows supporting me everywhere.

I am obsessed with my mattress, Kristen! I tried some mattresses at a local mattress store and posted on FB asking for ideas about the Sealy Beautyrest and one other one. TONS of people were commenting that I should check Costco. I took a leap of faith and bought a $799 queen-size mattress from Costco. It's INCREDIBLE. It comes all wrapped up in this crazy vacuum packed bag, so you are confused how it will be queen sized, but once you open it, it flies open. There are no springs. Treat your skinny ass to a new bed!
This is the one I bought: Novaform 14" Serafina Pearl Gel Queen Memory Foam Mattress
