I'm new!
Hey everyone im new here but I've been reading your posts for awhile trying to learn a bit. Im in the middle of the process to have my surgery covered through my insurance but they just approved me today to move on to the next step! I was just so excited i had to share with somebody and not many people in my life are as understanding as you all seem to be so im looking forward to getting to hear more from everyone! If anyone has any advice that would be wonderful. A little about me, im about to be 24 in march i have 2 wonderful little boys, i have been overweight most of my life no matter what i have done to change it and the pregnancies just made me heavier even with a strict diet. Im hoping that bariatric surgery will give me the tool i need to see at least some success so that i can increase my quality of life for my boys. I just want to be able to enjoy them and it makes things hard when all i can think about is the pain i feel. Ive really enjoyed reading what you've all been saying, you are all so strong to go through all of this. Im a nervous wreck but i couldn't be more thrilled. Oh and i was reading an earlier post about different food and exercise tracking apps and how the apps dont have bariatric patients in mind. There is one! The app is called "Baritastic". I dont know if anyone has seen it or tried it or if it isnt as good as it seems but its specially for bariatric patients. It keeps track of your weight, journals, photos, food journal, exercise, and has a timer for your supplements and for when to eat and drink. If anyone has tried this id love to hear some reviews? I know i have a ways to go but id really like to know whats good and what isnt before i get to where i need something that works and im over here not knowing what to do..
Hi! I'm newish here as well, although I've been posting for a bit, I'm still pre-op. I just finished my 3 month medically supervised diet and am waiting on insurance approval and hopefully a surgery date.
You will find a lot of experience, support and knowledge here.
I personally food track with My Fitness Pal, but will have to check out Baritastic.
My only advice is to stay plugged in here, read a bunch on this site and wherever else you can. I really like the "what's on your menu" daily posting, it gives me ideas and a place to be held accountable, because that will never happen in my personal life. :)
Welcome!

I know! Ive been reading everybodys posts for a while now but i just hadnt created my own account until yesterday. Everyone just seems so friendly here and thats the kind of support i really need. I have a 6 month waiting process. Within the next couple of weeks i get all of my referrals for what my insurance requires. I have to do 12 appointments with a nutritionist, 12 appointments of physical therapy, and 12 appointments of something else. I believe it was for the psych eval. I dont know, its a lot of appointments lol but i dont care. I just know im ready to know what its like to feel good for a change and im to the point where im ready for anything lol :)
Welcome to ObesityHelp.com I think you will find this is a great website and resource and a wonderful group of people. Before I had surgery I listened to a great podcast that also gave me a lot of information, the podcast is Weight Loss Surgery Podcast with Reeger Cortell. Good luck on your weight loss surgery. I am 4 mos post op and have lost about 80lbs in 4 months. Good Luck!

When I see someone that has lost as well as you it makes me curious as to what your meal plans are like. I just had surgery on Tuesday and I am on full liquids for 3 weeks then 3 Weeks of pureed. Then I can eat regular consistency food. I would love to hear what helped you in your success so far.
