Death row last meal?

2/29/16 is the first day of my new life too.  I felt so bad after a final splurge that I started my 2 weeks of liquids a day early. I just keep thinking of all of the things I've missed out on because of my weight. I don't ever want to deny myself an adventure because I can't do it or am afraid to try. Good luck to you!

I would like you to consider that you are thinking about this all wrong.

Right now, before surgery, you are on death row.  If things continue the same way with no change, you are likely contributing to your own death.

You are looking at what you are "losing" and right now it's only food.  Food is that important to you -- and it would behoove you to examine why?  Why is your happiness measured by what you can eat?

On 2/29, the governor is calling to pardon you -- you will be set free from the prison and death sentence of obesity -- if you are willing and ready to leave.  Yes, you will be leaving quantity and many foods behind -- in the jail you're currently in.  The question really is: are you ready to walk out of your cell?

You will find that if you choose to use this pardon and escape the obesity prison, you will have far more to look forward to than a 'last meal.'

I really like this analogy.  Additional, I'd like to say that I am finding that I haven't been pardoned, but I am on parole.  If I screw up, I can go right back into that food jail.

This is best analogy! So helpful!.

I agree that we are going to be on parole after surgery and can easily end up back in food jail.  How easy it is to slip into old habits without even realizing it!

Thank you for the inspiration!!!

I had surgery back in the days where they didn't make us starve for weeks  Last meal was really last meals for weeks before surgery.  I remember thinking I will never have birthday cake again and bought a big ice cream birthday cake even though it was not my birthday

But that being said, the surgery will limit what you can eat, especially the first year.  But after that, you can pretty much eat what you want. The key is once you lose weight and start living life as it was meant to be lived you will "choose" not to eat those foods.

To this day I can eat anything sugar, but greasy, fats get to me.  I choose to have anything I want but within limits.

Good Luck to you! We look forward to your updates!
