What's on Your Saturday Menu, RNYers?

Good morning, Weekend Menu Trackers!

I am still on a "high" from meeting my weight goal this week! Now I'm hoping to crush that goal and maybe go another 10lbs below. I know that some bounce back is likely on maintenance (though not inevitable) but I may as well keep going lower while I can.

Here is a before/after pic:

One thing that has helped me lose is that I really do actually like protein shakes. I make them myself because I have never liked the premade ones. I still have one every morning. It gives me a nice morning boost of protein and keeps my cranky pouch happy in the morning by getting some nutrition but not making me feel uncomfortably full. Currently, I like the Fit Frappe Protein shakes in Spiced Chai Latte or Espresso. They taste delicious hot, and I usually have them with a Keurig shot of decaf. They are a little low on protein compared to the others, so I often add a 1/2 scoop of Unjury to them to up the protein totals but keep the yummy flavors.

So what are your favorite protein shakes and recipes?

B: Fit Frappe Spiced Chai Latte with 1/2 scoop of unflavored Unjury & decaf
S: Fage 0% Blueberry Greek Yogurt
L: Pulled Pork & baked asparagus
S: Sargento Balanced Break (Pepper Jack cheese, peanuts and raisins)
D: Grilled Shrimp over Arugula (with balsamic dressing)

Exercise
No running while I'm healing from a toe injury, but I'm going to investigate some yoga videos and hope there is one I can do. Any other suggestions for exercises I can do at home that don't involve flexing my toes?

You look amazing!  Getting to goal has got to be awesome, I know I will get there one day, until then I will live vicariously through you.

We're up and getting ready for date night already.  It's a 3 hour drive to the casino and I have to steam my dress and get the kids packed up.  So much to do and so little time.  So I have planned out my food for the day for the most part.  This evening will be a crap shoot because I know I'll have a drink or two, but here's what I have planned so far.

B:  1 scambled egg with salsa and 1/2oz mozarella cheese on 1/2 a low carb tortilla, and a small portion of baked apple oatmeal. I split these with my 2 year old so I had about 3/4 of the egg sandwich and 1/2 of the oatmeal. Coffee with cream and sf torani syrup

L: ground turkey with mozzarella cheese in half a low carb tortilla

D: Filet Mignon with veggies

I'm leaving the snacks open because I have no idea

totals:

Calories 682 Protein 69 Carbs 35 Fat 32

My drinks will be diet with captain morgans, which is surprisingly low in calories for a mixed drink at 86 calories, so I can afford a couple drinks tonight.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, I'll check in tomorrow!

I don't drink protein shakes anymore because my surgeon discourages it once we are able to eat dense protein but I do sprinkle 3/4 a scoop of vanilla Body Fortress whey protein in my oats each morning to help me get some extra protein. You look amazing Juniper and congrats on getting to goal! I went as low as my body wanted to so that if I had gain I would still be a nice low bmi. My goal was 145 and I got as low as 118 which was a bit too thin. I now weigh between 120 and 123 depending on the day. I am 5 feet 61/2 inches tall. Busy weekend planned as my oldest son and his girlfriend are here from Minneapolis for a week. We haven't seen them since they moved in July. So tonight we will be going out to eat with them and my inlaws. Tomorrow noon meal is going to be turkey and fixings since they were not here at Christmas. Exercise today will be 4 plus miles on the treadmill and 30 minutes on the exercise bike. Weight is 122.4 today and here's the eats B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1 c chili D 31/2 oz of some type of grilled or baked fish with green beans S Greek yogurt. Have a great day everyone and make some smart choices!

Nice Pics! and Congratulations... I am flirting with reaching my (random) goal... I call it random because I could have made it one pound heavier or less ... Actually I am already normal bodyfat, just wanted a few pounds under before I claimed "GOALLLLL" Now Say that like the guy from the World Cup...LOL....

I still drink protein Drinks. I do love Fit Frappe - it got me through my "I can't drink another protein drink" at about 5 weeks out from surgery. I have had low protein twice on my bloodwork since surgery and that was with getting 70-80g a day...so I shoot for 90-100g and I don't think I could do that without protein drinks or unflavored powder.

Have been on an Inspire brand (Bariatric eating.com) kick lately because I like them just mixed with fairlife milk or cashew milk and shaken. Too cold to be doing the blender thing with ice..

B: Inspire Chocolate Cherry protein w/ cashew milk and 1 tsp Genepro unflavored protein

L: Chicken salad, cheddar cheese with salad

S: black bean soup with added unflavored protein

D: Maybe out... if not eggplant ricotta bake

S: Hot Premier protein

I totally owe you a thank you for passing on the tip about heating the premier protein. I gagged on them cold, but they are totally tolerable when warmed up! I would have never thought of that... ;)

In the beginning I would drink them cold and add instant coffee to make them taste better. Now I find even room temp better than cold - if I want one when I am out and about. When it is hot I drink it slower too, and I think that makes it more satisfying...
