Is Stevia a Better Choice?

Aspartame gives me headaches...splenda - too much and I itch all over. I can tolerate saccharine.  But I don't use too much of that.

I use stevia in my coffee and some drink mixes.  Watch for mixes of stevia that use dextrose (sugar) . or other flavors.

You can try some drink mixes that are made with stevia... I can use that on and off..

Some of the mixes has also Erythritol - a SA, that most people have no problem with.

I bake using liquid organic stevia. But I have been using stevia for ages so I got used to the aftertaste...it does not bother me.

They are people who love stevia and some that hate it. It is genetic. Google that.

Not for me. My body treats it like sugar

A few years ago I was having a lot of cravings and I was struggling to maintain my weight. I was using a lot of Splenda during that time period. I switched to Stevia and my intense cravings disappeared almost overnight. Coincidence? It might be, but for me, I will stick with Stevia. I did not like the taste at first, but got used to it and now I like it better than other sweeteners.

Been using stevia since 2009. What I like about it is that it takes away my cravings for sugar, and when I DO taste something with sugar, it tastes so sweet that I usually can't tolerate it. In my book, that's a major plus! I use the Sprout's and/or MGM protein powder, which usesstevia as a sweetener and it's very affordable. I've experienced horrible side effects from all artificial sweeteners but I've never experienced any from stevia, just a few positive side effects.

I love the taste of Truvia. Works for me. I like other Stevia products as well. But I have found ones that taste nasty as well. Amazes me how it's the same product but can taste so differently. So if you try one and don't like please don't give up. Try another.

Some products are pure stevia and some have various other ingredients added. For instance, Truva also contains erythritol as well as natural flavors (whatever those are lol). I love the taste of it and used it for years prior to switching over to pure stevia, which can be a bit bitter and not as tasteful if not used correctly. I've gotten used to the flavor though and love it. Hiwever, I still keep a container of Truvia in the cupboard for use every now and then though ;)

Stevia is a plant and is natural.  All the other sweetners are chemicals.  I prefer to go as natural as possible.  I've purchased a stevia plant before.  The leaves are really sweet.  I use stevia when I'm substituting sweetners.
