WLS Fraud
So yesterday i posted what i was following for a Back on Track plan and I posted a Link to the plan being followed.... then a person brought to my attention that the person behind that support group (bariatric Eating) was a big time fraud/scam. I guess several years ago she was scamming wls people with her supposedly very good product. Apparently it was a big deal on this website among all the Vets. Well I was amazed to hear that was happening. I follow the very strict BOT plan but i have never purchased their products i find them to be to expensive for my budget. Have any of you guys ever here stuff about her blogs or products? this was all on facebook.
When she had a website with forums I used to post and read there all the time. The BOT was just a way to sell a lot of protein powder.
Once I posted this question: "Since nobody doing this is anywhere near their goal weight, why does the site keep pushing protein powder instead of dense protein?" They did not like my opinion.
I did order from her website for years and had no problems at all. There were problems a few years ago and people did not receive their orders. I never heard what the financial problems were, but they are still selling products and seem have straightened things out and to be doing fine.
Susan Leach wrote an excellent book on weight loss surgery and used to run a great support site.

http://www.bariatriceating.com/well-help-you-lose-bariatric- regain/ this is the link like i said i was follwing the 24 hour pouch rest and the BOT plan but i was using my own products cause i find theirs to costly.
So on face book this is the response i got on sharing the link from one of the Admins. I was so suprised at it. so she said it was a big deal about this person on this site here among the vets.... keep in mind the person that shared this info is a wls vet and not only that but a wls nurse. So I do think she would not talk crap about stuff if she did not do her research. Again i am not shaming anyone here just want to get info on this.
Oh wait.. .that is bariatriceating.com. EWW EWWW EWWWW! We NEVER promote that nasty ass place. The owner there has a long track record of financially screwing wls patients, taking their money and not sending them product, horrible information, wrong information, they delete and ban anyone with 2 or more working brain cells because those who can think realize what a chit-hole BE.com is are not permitted to post. Anyone that is able to think for themselves are not welcome to post there. Unless they drink the KoolAid they are not permitted to post on that slime board.
Please, do not advertise that horrible place on this page. We really honestly try to provide people with solid information and not scams and money making nonsense for that woman who owns BE.com.
I have seen her buy seriously low quality protein (collagen) knowing and admitting full well it is a dangerous protein for our population and her response? "I don't care, I got a heck of a deal on a semi truck load of this stuff!" All the places where she claims the manufacturer is out of a product? Utter nonsense, she has a nasty habit of not paying her bills and the manufacturers refuse to send her more product until she pays her 90+ day past due bill.
She is bad news, gives horrible advice, bad information, she's a control freak, and refuses to allow any opinion that does not agree with hers on that page. That's bull.
Please, no more BariatricEating nonsense on our page? Thanks!
Yes, Susan Maria Leach is well-known among the WLS community for scamming a large number of people. She failed to send the products they purchased but refused to refund their money. Many of her products, such as the Journey vitamins, are totally inadequate for RNY folks and she advertises them saying all kinds of completely inaccurate things - like she posted on her website that iron blocks the absorption of calcium, when it's the other way around. If you don't know the bare basics of nutrition, maybe you shouldn't be selling vitamins. I definitely wouldn't ever buy anything from her website, since there is a good chance you'll never receive what you buy and also never get your money back.

There are multiple issues with her vitamins.

I've bought the inspire protein powder and have liked it.. the stats are good and it's made with whey protein isolate (I am assuming they can't falsify that data). The vitamins and other stuff is too pricey for me... plus 6 vitamins a day is a bit much to me.
I haven't had an issue receiving merchandise and if I did I'd hope my cc company would work with me to get it back.
Yep. She took a lot of money from people and never fulfilled their orders (or returned their money). Another interesting thing to me is that she claims to be a weight loss expert but I believe she has had a huge regain. Last I checked, she has not posted pictures of herself in years.
If you are going to talk the talk, walk the walk. Be honest about your own journey and struggles and don't just hide behind a computer screen.
