I would advise you to get a really smart scale and use it everyday.  My scale gives weight, BMI, fat conten****er percentage, muscle weight and bone weight.  If I have a gain I can quickly know whether or not it is water, muscle or fat that went up with the weight.  Getting weighed at the doctor's office would really stress me out if I did not already know what the scale was going to say.

Don't do anything post-op for anyone else's goals but your own. This is YOUR journey, not your surgeon's.

Walkwalkwalk.  Sipsipsip. Chewchewchew.

Use Miralax and/or stool softeners when you get constipated.

We are all different.

Enjoy your journey to health.

I did not meet my doctors goals for my 5month post op appointment. I beat myself up about it for a long time. Now I realize that I stressed myself out for nothing. I was following my plan. I was getting activity in. My doctor expected me to lose around 20 lbs a month until 6 months. My body disagreed. This is how my weight loss has looked. You will have stalls. You will look at the scale and feel angry at it(i have flipped mine off many times) however, if you stick to the plan You will lose weight. Dont be discouraged, and dont let your doctors "goals" stress you out.

I started out at a high weight...and a consistent 20lbs a month is a high expectation. You have done amazing...

Do yourself a HUGE favor and find a Therapist now. Do not wait til you are behind the 8-ball and have lost then REgained more weight than you lost. ANYONE with weight issues (having bypass surgeries) has a reason that they eat. Give yourself a gift and find out why you do so. Insurance covers most if not all of it. It's not something you can guess about. You already post that you are hungry and have eaten MORE than the diet prescribed. IF you are doing it now, it will only continue and sabotage your whole weight loss. I wish you only the best in your journey.

I've lost 25 pounds since January or 10 pounds since surgery Feb. 1st, loosing about a pound a Day after all the IV Fluids left my body.  I feel like i'm doing Good.  I don't have a therapist I have something better a Psychiatrist.  My weight gain was caused by 4 back surgeries, 12 hours each, 2 Long Double rods from base of Neck to Tail Bone (Sacrum).  and full Pelvic rods.  I also take one medication that causes weight gain which can't be changed we have found out.  I will continue with my weight loss at this point I WILL make the 30 pounds off in 8 Weeks.  Woo Hoo !!!  I also started an EXCEL  Chart and Graph documenting all this loss, i got the weigh In amounts from my Surgeons Office.  I mailed this too the Doctor that made me Cry.  I Will Suceed!!!!
