Got the staples out doctor wants to see a 30 pound weight loss in 8 weeks need some advice
I guess I don't understand what you are so upset about. Thirty pounds is quite reasonable as a first two month goal. I had a goal to meet for each of my post-op visits. They kept me on track and let me know that I was doing as expected.
If you don't meet your goal then the doctor will know that your food program may need to be adjusted. This is a journey. When you take a trip in your car you know how many miles you did each day and how many are left to get to your destination.
I am glad that I had goals to meet. I always exceeded them. Take this as the challenge it is meant to be and figure out what you need to do to get to this goal and then all the goals on the way to your ideal weight.

I think we were all scared of failure... I am going to be the one person this doesn't work for...

I remember going in to the dr for my 3 month f/u visit and I was down 30lbs. For some reason I thought it should be more so I was so disappointed. At my appointment I also went in to see the nutritionist who looked at me and 1st said how healthy I looked and when I told her I didn't mean to seem ungrateful or greedy but I thought I would be down more, she just smiled and picked up her little blob that represents a 1lb of fat (some kind of "jel blob" I call it) and said you loose just 1 of these and your moving in the right direction and you have have lost 30 of them. She just encouraged me that everybody is different and as long as I am sticking to my plan and making healthy choices and moving I was doing the right thing.
It has really helped me to read a lot of the posts on this site to see the progress and differences for each individual.
Best of luck to you!!

Are you upset that the scale didn't move, or, that you have to now start eating to plan? It is not a 'magic wand' at all. And White Dove has a great point about goal's being a great motivator to push the envelope.
I cannot expect the same from anyone else, but I've maintained a pound a day off for the first 120 days straight. And, I'm down 139 pound in 5 and 1/2 months since my RNY. It totally can be done. All I've done is mainly apply the rules I've learned here. My doctor's eating plan had me eating a piece of toast at 3 months out. NO THANK YOU.
You should expect wild emotional swings somewhere in here though. That might explain the upsetness. And remember that this is a tool, not a wand. There IS NO wand. It is a long journey, because after you lose all of the weight, THEN the hard part of maintenance begins. It will always be tricky for people who have been where we have. I wish you the best of luck on this lifelong journey.
And please use the ...... button. I defy anyone alive to read that whole post like I did, in one breath.
And don't compare the speed of your weight loss to anyone but particularly men. They are very fast at weight loss.
This is what I can tell you. Follow your plan. Drink your fluids. Work on protein. Come here everyday and read. And by the end of this year you will have lose more than you ever have in your life and you hopefully you will learn how to keep it off.
And the doctor is a bit of an ass.
