What's On Your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
Some halfway decent therapists have a lot of empathy, and that's nice. They may be a lot of help. But unless they've walked in our shoes, or alongside us, they don't really understand. I know finding a therapist who has actually had WLS might be impossible, but finding one who has worked with a lot of us should make a big difference.
95 pound nutritionists and therapists who eat half a cookie and wrap the rest up for later have no comprehension of how we think.

I have thought that about nutritionists many times.... they can be a nice cheerleader...Rah! Rah! Do a good job! But not necessarily helpful. I have probably read more articles on nutrition than many of them....

And certainly more about nutrition and vitamins as far as they pertain to all of us.

Websites: this one, FB, my kids' school grades/assignments portal (only if I feel like I want to be angry haha), eggface's blog and Brad's deals a couple of times a week.
The "blowing it" stuff must be going around. I went to a graduation for a lady from the drug/alcohol residential house I serve on the board for and ate a piece of cake. It practically got shoved in my hand and of COURSE I didn't say "no." Good Lord.

Good morning. To those who are dealing with cold and snow today, I apologize for what I'm about to say. The temp is going to top 90 today. I'm actually not happy about that. I'm not ready for warm weather. I finally LIKE my winter clothes and want to wear them! Come back, cold weather. I miss you! KQOTD - I visit all the sale sites -- Gilt, Hautelook, groupon, living social and Brad's deals. I also read Slate and try to look at a news site. Every day. People think I work extraordinarily long hours, but that's not the case. It just takes me so long to get through my personal stuff in the morning, that I have to make the time up on the back end! My menu is up in the air today, an attorney service is bringing in lunch, and I don't know what's on the menu. Someone said they usually bring in BBQ chicken, tri tip and salad. If so, I'm golden. If not, who knows . He's the plan I do have.
B: turkey, cheese and spinach (total 4.5 oz)
L: I'm going with chicken thigh and salad and will modify if need be
D: New York Strip asparagus
S: Light and Fit/Peanut Butter/Somersaults
E: It's kick boxing night. Yay!
Totals: Unknown given the black hole that is lunch. I'm anticipating it will be around 1000 cal. and greater than 90g protein.
Have an awesome day!
yep, 90. It's currently a balmy 81. I knew it would be warm this week. The Los Angeles Marathon is this weekend and for the last few years its been HOT. Last year they even started an hour earlier hoping to avoid the masses passing out from heatstroke. I'm not running, but I have friends who are and we were all convinced it was going to be hot through the week. Sure enough, the weather is supposed to change next monday.
Anyway, come on out! We can always use a good PA and I could use a running/training buddy!
I like to visit local news sites. I have a motorcycle (I bought my 1st one for my 50th birthday 3 years ago and I am totally loving) I have been looking online for some things I want to add to it. Or maybe even a new one.
I missed a few days in here, its been crazy busy and when I get on here I like to see all the posts.
I had a crazy weekend with company Saturday and Sunday (super bowl party) We had very good choices of food, lots of protein stuff. Some not so good. I think my biggest problem was it was kind of a grazing thing and of course tequila. I have to sip it so I didn't have much but it was sure yummy.
I tried to be better yesterday. Went out to dinner with some friends but still managed to stay away from carbs all day, eat mostly protein and stayed under 1100 calories.
Today my menu
B- Coffee- Premier protein
L- Roasted turkey/ cheese
D- boneless chicken wings, left from last nights dinner
snacks
chicken jerky
chedz snacks
670 calories/ 34 carbs/ 74 protein
I am super, super late today. It is a gorgeous day here in Portland, sunny and 62 degrees. Heaven. It's not supposed to last through the week, but I am super happy now. I'm going to take advantage of it by taking a nice, long walk after work. My favorite sites? Okay, this is about to get embarrassing...HauteLook, Gilt, My Habit, Nordstrom, Talbot's, Joss & Main, One King's Lane, Amazon, ebay, Rue La La, Kate Spade, Tory Birch...Does anyone see a disturbing pattern here? Yep, I love me some shopping. Sigh...
I too am thinking of giving up alcohol for Lent, or maybe half of Lent, because I have a trip to Hawaii scheduled for next month!
