Stupid gallbladder
I'm in the midst of an intense gallbladder attack. I'm sitting here trying to wait it out because I don't want to have to go to the hospital on Superbowl Sunday.
The pain is so bad it's shooting up into my neck and back. I'm thinking of taking some tylenol 3 with codeine to kick the pain for now. I called my insurance nurse line and she told me to go to urgent care. I know urgent care is useless, if I can even find one open.
I feel for you. Had my gallbladder out 18 mos. after surgery. Woke up 4 am in pain, drove to work, called my pcp & saw her & then went for lab tests an an ultrasound. Ultrasound tech said they would call it a boulder not a stone and it was stuck in a duct. The pain was unrelenting. Late afternoon I saw a surgeon who immediately sent me to the hospital and the next day I had it removed.
until they started that intravenous drip of pain killer in the hospital I was in pain - dehydrated because couldn't even ge****er down.
think about going to emergency room if pain does not ease off. Because of where my stone was and its size, the pain would have never let up without intervention. If you have something like that, you don't want to go all day today, tonight and most of tomorrow in the level of pain you have.
Take care

Oh no. Hope you made it through the night--not just because I hope you are feeling better because I also can't imagine what hell is an urgent care clinic in the middle of the night after the Super Bowl!
