Cant have a bowel movement
Ok tmi about to happen here... You have been warned!
So pooping has become a very traumatic experience for me. 90% of the time I break out in a cold sweat and feel like passing out. But once I go the relief is amazing! Lol any who the point of this is to say I feel your pain and am glad you posted this because I am going to get some miralax.
Happy pooping!
Sorry about my crude sense of humor lol! Sometimes we just have to laugh about bodily functions so that they aren't awkward haha

Where do you mag citrate tablets? I thought that was only the carbonated liquid. That would have to be better than the lactulose.
Hi - I got mine at Vitamin Shoppe. I got their "house" brand, but they carry other manufacturers' brands as well. I imagine you could find it at other places that carry a wide supply of supplements, too. Yea - the carbonated liquid version - as well as Milk of Magnesia - is just a super megadose of pretty much the same thing

My center recommends daily use of Miralax for the first 6 months after surgery. Since one week after my surgery I have enjoyed (really) a daily hot tea w/Miralax ****tail. It's now been 9 weeks since surgery and haven't had a bowel problem. FYI, I recently discovered that Costco has a Miralax alternative that is their Kirkland brand. It's the same as Miralax (no flavor) but half the price.

A capful of Miralax every morning works for me. I put it in my coffee, but it can be used in any liquid.
I've not seen anyone suggesting this yet, but I've found that trying to add fiber to my diet if I'm constipated makes the problem worse. Just fyi. After I'm cleaned out, I add fiber back in. This was per my surgeon's instructions, but definitely talk to your surgeon.
Hope you can get relief, I know how badly it can hurt. ( I think most of us can sympathize! )

In the future, when you are CLEARED for exercise by your surgeon, the only thing that really helps me is running/jogging.
Seriously, I didnt run for a day or two, felt bloated/fat etc...went for an 8 mile run yesterday and "'went" 5 times later. After that run, (and going 5 times), I lost 2.5 lbs!!!
I read it has to do with the intestine "cramping". I dont feel cramps when I go on my runs.
Sometimes I do get the urge to fart, but I know that after mile 3, NEVER TRUST A FART!!!

Three pounds below Goal!!! Yay !
I add a half of a capful of Miralax to my morning protein shake five days a week. I also take Fiber Gummies. It's also important to drink at least 64 ounces of fluid, even more. I haven't had problems with BMs in a very long time since I've been on this routine.
