10+ years post op, living & loving life!
I hate when I go to a small restaurant and they don't have nutritional info available. I have a small portable scale in my purse, which I sometimes use to weigh stuff, but now I'm in the habit of kinda estimating. I just looked and 1 ounce of Tuna sashimi or Hamachi is approximately 35 to 40 calories. Banana bread from Bob Evans is 161 calories a slice. I'm familiar with how big that is, so I can estimate that if I had 1/3 of it I'd have about 55 calories. I love MFP for estimating. I know I'm not going to be spot on, but at least it's an idea of what my intake is.
I usually am good with estimating too. I think this might be a bit of the fatigue I posted about yesterday. I just can't bring myself to figure it all out. I mean 3 of us shared the following dishes:
Hamachi with vinaigrette, diced pink lady apples and radish sprouts. There were 6 circles of hamachi, the size of quarters and you could almost see through it. We each had 2 slices. There was no way each "serving" was even an ounce.
YELLOWFIN TUNA, LECHE DE TIGRE, AVOCADO - 4 mounds of avocado with yellowfin tuna draped over it. the tuna was sliced thin. Have no idea what was in the sauce.
My friends had lobster rolls. I had a bite of the lobster from one of the rolls
Skate wing with baby broccoli
A chicken sandwich with spicy slaw. We cut the chicken in thirds. They ate it with the bread, I had 2 bites of chicken, no bread and a bit of the slaw
KENNEBEC FRIES, MALT VINEGAR AIOLI - I had 5 fries
Banana bread (hard to judge the size as it was in a bowl with walnuts sprinkled over the top.) I had 3 bites.
It is absolutely impossible for me to judge. I was thinking of just adding 1000 calories to my daily total and calling it a day. Grrrrr.
Hi all! Nothing big planned. I have got to get my house in order and we'll definitely be watching the Super Bowl (go Broncos!). Have been wanting to take my kiddo swimming at an indoor water park and now that I'm cleared to do that I think I will tomorrow.
