Introduction meeting tonight
Hi everyone! I am new to the boards but I have been reading for a long time now. I think I have finally settled on RNY. (well that's what I want we shall see what the Dr says) I am going to my introduction meeting tonight and I was wondering if anyone has any questions I HAVE to ask? I am so excited and I hope my journey begins tonight!
I wouldn't worry about asking too many questions. If it's like my orientation, it's going to be a lot of information coming at you at once. My program had a guest speaker--someone who had been through the surgery and had good success. There will likely be handouts, so make sure you keep them all to look over later. Focus on listening and absorbing the information and take notes if you feel it's necessary. It's good that you've already done your own independent research and you'll have information to compare with already.
If questions occur to you, certainly raise your hand and ask, but you might be better off taking the opportunity to write down questions that come to you during the orientation to ask the surgeon directly during your one on one consultation when you have his undivided attention. Good luck on your journey! :D
