Surgery date achieved!
I saw the nutritionist for a follow up yesterday. She was very happy with the progress I've made: cut out caffeine, not drinking with meals, measuring protein (mostly). She'll see me again on 2/29.
I saw the surgeon today and I have a surgical date of April 4! That's the day before First Contact (for all you Trek nerds out there ;)). i'll speak with anesthesia in March to get that set up.
I can't believe this is going to happen. I told my boss today and she was cool, very encouraging, gave me the paperwork for FMLA. She told me to take as much time off as I needed and not rush back to work.
I see my therapist tomorrow and we're going to start working on my nutritionists' questions. I confessed to her about my emotional eating, my cravings that I can't seem to shake. I was so nervous telling her. I told her I felt like I was taking my clothes off in her office! But she didn't judge me. She said my admitting that is a sign that I'm ready to change.
I still did get cake on my way home. But that stops now. I'm trying to be compassionate and firm at the same time. So I'll work with my therapist on ways I can use other ways to comfort myself other than eating. I'l especially need strategies for the next couple of months; my parents are travelling frequently and I'll be alone a lot, which used to be prime time for me to eat a lot.
Thanks for listening,

Great news. T'Plana-Hath. But you'll sleep through the Red Sox' opening day.
My first visit with the nutritionist, she asked if I liked sweets. I said "Sure, what have you got?"
