New month...new challenge! (Before&After pictures included)
Thank you! Update so far: I have done some sort of something everyday so far. Granted, this is only the thrid but still is a little gold star, right? lol Yesterday I met a friend at a park near my work and walked for an hour with her. Today I have an after work walk in a park planned before I drive to an evening meeting. Planning is really helping!

Great job and Great pics! Walking the dog is great. The more weight you lose the easier the idea of exercise will become. Turn on music and dance in the kitchen while you are cooking for 30 minutes... hahaha...I did that :) I would set the timer on the stove.

I am struggeling with the same issue....I keep putting everyone elses needs ahead of my own and I find I am taking a step back and realizing that if I do that I will be potentially putting myself in the same situation that I was before in and I didn't like how it felt. I work graves, so fitting in gym time is a little more tricky for me....BUT I find even if I don't go to the gym and go on the treadmill for an hour....I will put in a Richard Simmons DVD,...and let me tell you....I think I would much rather get my butt to the gym then have Richard kick my butt multiple days a week!!! OR...I push my couch and coffee table back, put on music or a movie that I already know by heart and do laps in my house....sadly I feel like I am on an episode of NASCAR,...she's making another left turn....but I figure...I am doing more than what I use to do and I'm OK with taking smaller steps. I had my surgery on 11/18/15.....so not that much father behind you....give yourself a break and do what you can do,...don't try to do more based off of others expectations! Good job!
Go left! Love it! I'm going to give that a try. :) We can do this!

I am the same way!!! I clean up after everyone else, do everyone else's meals, etc. and then there I am...but I have learned over the years, that I have to somehow squeeze myself in there and I have had to make some demands at home. For example, I sprung for the $19.95 per month gym membership because I use the daycare for my son. I know there are lots of cheaper gyms I could join, but the daycare is awesome at my gym, I trust the ladies because I have gotten to know them, and there are tv's in the gym so I can see him if I want to. I demanded from my husband that if my kids have soccer at the beginning of the week, he's gonna take them, because that's my gym time. I sacrifice for him towards the end of the week if necessary and then I take them with me to workout on the weekends. On the weekends, I usually make one big thing for myself and piece it up for the week.
All this being said, it's come with some loss unfortunately. I don't have time to 'hangout,' with people or do lots of the family stuff I used to do. But when I don't have my time to exercise or keep my house in order, my mental state is not all that great. We all also have times where we can and can't get things done and for some of us, it's been easy to accept. For others of us, it's so hard. I'm a control freak, so it's hard when my schedule doesn't pan out. I hate winter, for example because it holds me back from my normal routine if there's bad weather or if it's too darn cold to take the kids out of the house.
You got this; you look great and you can do anything you set your mind to. It just takes some re-adjusting of your daily schedule and you can fit it in there!
You sound like me Cate! First,we are the same age and because my hubby is retired and I am on disability a gym membership is out of the question. I got to goal and have maintained for 21/2 years with walking at the park or my treadmill and using my recumbent bike. Exercise and moving more is possible for anybody.
I am right there with you, I am also a little more than 4.5 months out RNY, and I haven't been able to get on a schedule to take care of myself since the surgery, it is all I can do to keep track of what I am eating on MyFitness Pal everyday. I haven't been able to get into a fitness routine yet, with my own business, and caregiver & community roles. I need to learn to put my health first again, as making this decision was a huge life changing decision and I don't want to go back to where I was before. I hope I can make some positive changes this month and not forget how important this journey is, thank you for the reminder. You look great, sending you prayers and great vibes for your journey this month! Kim
