What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?
I too was very emotional when my youngest left for college. He is most like me of my two boys and has epilepsy. He nearly died at age 3 when he had a grand Mal seizure and doctors were worried about brain damage. It was so hard to have him leave home even though college was only 11/2 hours away. Then 2 weeks after the start of school his freshman year he had a seizure during the night. I was a mess for sure! I does get better though. Even though he has memory issues because of his meds he was able to graduate with a B minus average and a major in biology and minor in history. He had to work extra hard and sometimes get help from teachers and tutors but he did it! He graduated in May and got the first job he interviewed for as a horticulture technician in a botanical garden in Kennesaw Georgia. Even though it was hard to have him move so far from Illinois he loves his job and I am so proud of the kind, sensitive, hard working young man he has become. We have to let them spread their wings so they can fly!

Oh yes! QOTD! I do not eat protein bars. I have a very bad reaction to them--what I assume is a RH reaction. Those sugar alcohols put me into a coma for about an hour. When I want something on the go, what I eat instead is a Kind nut bar, or just some nuts. I do very well with these.
Hi RNY'ers
I had to get dental work done today some I'm off, which usually means the menu is up in the air. My mouth is numb for the next few hours at least.
Protein bars....haven't really found any that I keep on hand/have to have. There is a Luna bar and a natures valley bar that I think are decent nutrition wise and will seek those out of if I'm on the go, but they never became a regular part of my menu.

Hi all. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Congratulations on making goal Kristen! That is so fantastic, and you look so amazing. Your son is a cutie, too.
I am posting a picture that I took this morning (missed photo Friday). The biggest NSV is that I am now TUCKING MY BLOUSE! After years and years of going untucked, this feels good. Also, luckily you cannot see the big bruise on my *****under lots of make up). Friday night I got up at 1:30 am to go potty, and got super dizzy. The next thing I knew I was on the floor. Bruised my elbows and knee, and must of face planted because I have a big bruise on my chin and a deep cut on the inside of my lower lip. So lucky I didn't knock a few teeth out. I have been having trouble with my blood pressure dropping the last month or so, but this was the worst. I am still on meds, so I need to see my PCP and see if she will take me off of them. This scared me.
I don't generally eat protein bars, except in situations where there are no other other options, then it is usually a Kind Bar. They are not fantastic from a protein perspective, but they feel more like real food than the other bars. Who am I kidding? They are all processed, but I feel better about the Kind.

D: Chunky Beef Chili (I made it with stew beef instead of ground beef, and cooked it for hours in a dutch oven in the oven yesterday. It is yummy and has a good protein count)

Great job on being under goal. My favorite protein bar when I have one is/was the quest pumpkin pie one. It was like crack for me so I limited myself. Of course hubby loved them and would eat them as fast as I bought them.
Question do you raise honeybees?
B: 1 scrambled egg with spinach and cheese
S: Coffee with little light cream
L: 3 mini pickles wrapped with sliced turkey and cheese
D: leftover roast chicken with butternut squash
S: 1oz jerky
vitamins in and 50oz water so far.
We do raise bees! We have 8 hives on the property and harvested almost 160 lbs. of honey last year.
I had bees for 5 years, but a few winters ago I lost my two hives. I just got to cold for them with over 3 feet of snow. I was so bummed. You wouldn't happen to know of any apiaries in MA or CT that sell nucs. I do not want Southern bees.
