what to take with to the hospital??
Wondering what I need to take with to the hospital...
My surgery will be about 7 hours from where I live so running home for items is out of the question.
Just wondering what others found helpful while in the hospital.
Charger for phone
Slippers and robe
Hair brush
Toothbrush/toothpaste
Comfortable clothes to go home
They will usually provide you with lotion, gowns, soap, etc.
Good luck and do everything the doctor and nurses tell you to do.

I found my efforts were best directed toward sleeping, sipping, walking and asking nurses for advice. I did not allow time for books, magazines, or electronic anything. You might not get to choose, but request a room far from the nurse's station if noise bothers you. I found comfort being right across from station. Just like the suitcase I packed when in labor, I used a fraction. What was used? Slip-on shoes, easy to get on and off clothes, hair/makeup products, a water bottle and pillow for the car. My favorite was when my DD fixed my hair and makeup on discharge day. The most important suggestion: stop the car and walk every hour to help prevent blood clotting in the legs.
The best advice I received was to take a sound/white noise machine. It turned out to the best advice since I was right outside of the nurses' station and I was in the hospital for 4 nights. Good luck!

All great suggestions. If you can get an extra long cord for charging your phone that would be great as you don't know where the outlet will be. I just bought a 10ft mini usb at a store called Five Below.
I didnt use a robe just 2 hospital gowns. They had me hooked up to too many things to use anything different. Slip on shoes a must for walking.
I wore the same clothes into the hospital I planned on wearing out, just brought an extra pair underwear.
Some kind of chapstick type thing. I use babylips, and whatever will make you feel 'freshened up'...
