What's your favorite smoothie?

I've been considering your post and thinking about how to reply.

You are NOT doomed.  It's just that you will not fill up on fruit, or other high sugar foods.  You will fill up on protein, and the some veggies.  Fruit will be like a dessert - a few of them for a flavorful, palate cleansing taste-bud surprise.  Like Maria 27 says - eat them whole and appreciate each one.

I eat a small amount of fruit occasionally, mostly raspberries. But I always eat it whole because blending it leds to bigger blood sugar spikes and keeps it from filling you up.

I will listen to you guys. It's only my second smoothie since having wls so I'm not too use to having them.  Will get rid of them.

There are a lot of myths surrounding cettain foods. Orange juice is a common one. I'd bet 98 out of 100 people think orange juice is healthy. It really isn't. You might as well be drinking full octane coke or pepsi. There is very little difference.

I dump on OJ, I miss it, but won't touch it with a 10 foot pole!

My surgeon says once you are able to eat solid protein you ought not be drinking calories. I do drink coffee with creamer aND Splenda but my calories from creamer are accounted for in my food plan. I also rarely ever eat fruit. Once a month at most!

The only time I would drink a smoothie if I was going for my morning walk. Or when I am not hungry in the morning.

I use a protein shake that is pre-made then add sugar-free banana syrup. I add ice to make it like a shake.

I try not to drink my calories. Bananas in the house are a major trigger food.

I wouldn't consider this a smoothie - just a jazzed protein shake.  For me, I would need to be careful about the volume. I ordered a protein shake at Muscle Grill - the same brand I use at home.  But they put it in a blender and made it frothy.  Two sips was all I could drink.

I know not a smoothie. I figured it would be a good alternative to a smoothie that can be a lot of calories to drink.

When I have fruit I eat it. I don't drink them. I eat apples in the fall and cherries in the summer. I eat half a banana with peanut butter 2x week.
