What's your favorite smoothie?
I've been considering your post and thinking about how to reply.
You are NOT doomed. It's just that you will not fill up on fruit, or other high sugar foods. You will fill up on protein, and the some veggies. Fruit will be like a dessert - a few of them for a flavorful, palate cleansing taste-bud surprise. Like Maria 27 says - eat them whole and appreciate each one.

There are a lot of myths surrounding cettain foods. Orange juice is a common one. I'd bet 98 out of 100 people think orange juice is healthy. It really isn't. You might as well be drinking full octane coke or pepsi. There is very little difference.

The only time I would drink a smoothie if I was going for my morning walk. Or when I am not hungry in the morning.
I use a protein shake that is pre-made then add sugar-free banana syrup. I add ice to make it like a shake.
I try not to drink my calories. Bananas in the house are a major trigger food.
I wouldn't consider this a smoothie - just a jazzed protein shake. For me, I would need to be careful about the volume. I ordered a protein shake at Muscle Grill - the same brand I use at home. But they put it in a blender and made it frothy. Two sips was all I could drink.
