Smoothies are a terrible idea for us. Just a bad habit. They'll end up having tons of sugar, a billion calories, and will leave you craving more. I don't know a single person who's been successful long term that would touch a smoothie with a ten foot pole.

It depends on what u put in it.  I'm sure there are tons of people who drink smoothies......  Plus fruit has natural sugars.....  There are a such thing as healthy smoothies.

Don't think so.  You might want to post the recipe what you consider to be a "healthy smoothie" just in case we are talking about different things.

The whole point is that fruit has SUGAR - whether they are 'natural' or not is mostly immaterial.

Natural sugar is still sugar.  Natural calories are still calories.  Natural carbs are still carbs.

There are plenty of fat vegetarians, fat organic-only eaters, and yes, fat smoothie-makers in the world.  I know, because I was one.

I don't think there is such a thing as a healthy smoothie for morbidly obese ppl. There are certainly tons of ppl who use smoothies but they are often the largest ppl or ppl who are naturally slim,or haven't messed themselves up by years of yo yo dieting.

The ppl we see here that use smoothies usually come back two or three years later whining because they didn't get to goal or have begun gaining.

Sugar is sugar to the body. The body doesn't know it is fruit sugar,it might as well be several teaspoons of whote sugar as far as the body knows.

Plus, when it is pulverized ,you also lose what very very small amount of fiber there is in any fruit and vegetables in it.

Ibet you didn't put a lot of GREEn vegetables in it either, did you? Most ppl don't,they just want to load it up on fruit.

Pas long as you. Give your body pure sugar(smoothies) your body will not. Burn your stored fat and you will have poor to no weight loss and often gain.  Burning stored fat is the whole idea behind WLS.

I would not touch a smoothie, and I do not agree that there is such a thing as a healthy smoothie. Adding the word natural before sugar does not make it magically better for us. There is nothing ok about drinking carbs in any form, especially after wls. Liquid carbs are the worst possible thing for a wls patient (think regular soda, milkshakes, frappuccinos, mochas, fruit juice, and smoothies).

One or 2 small wedges a week of apple or grapefruit.  I have a carton of blueberries in my freezer for months and I eat one from time to time as a dessert.

I am >1 year post WLS and at my goal weight.  Would not be eating fruit until I achieved liftoff (ie goal weight).

One blueberry?  Do you mean one carton of blueberries,  one cup of blueberries, or possibly one handful of blueberries?  If it's one blueberry, I'm doomed.
