Have you tried the water enhancers? The little squirt bottle things? They might help with your juice cravings too!

I've tried them-- but got tired of trying to figure out just how much makes it taste ok, usually I end up making it too weak or too strong. If I use a crystal light packets, I won't use the whole thing cause I think its too strong, I avoid it all together and just do the water- or something like diet Snapple or light minute maid lemonade.

I loved the Diet Cranberry juices from Ocean Spray right after surgery (I could not do water straight for some reason).  They come in some great flavors and they are only 5 calories per 8 oz.

Awww, you guys make me feel all warm and fuzzy. In any other online community we would be called Unicorn Glitter ****ters because there is so much love and support here. I gotta say, when you have a TRULY supportive online community it is easy to see past any troll or troublemaker and feel the love of. I guess us ex-fat people are the real deal, huh?

Coffeee! I have a genetic predisposition to drinking coffee. I first started drinking coffee when I was a little girl. My neighbor was from The Netherlands, or Holland. Hetti Hodges used to invite us in, give us the most delicious dutch cookies filled with sticky honey, and cups of super sweet coffee. I was about 10, and was fascinated with her stories of living in Europe. She was a mid-30's housewife with no kids and I think she liked having us girls visit from time to time. For all the generations of my family, coffee has been a central point. I can't think back to my grandparents (grandma passed in 1996 and grandpa passed in 2011) and remember them with any other beverage in front of them other than coffee. I lived with my grandfather for a short time in 1999/2000 while I was saving to buy my first home, and I honestly never saw him drink anything but black coffee. no water, no soda, nothing.

Pre surgery, my coffee was sweet and creamy. I'd take a double cream double sugar when I ordered. Not enough to be sickening sweet, but enough to be yummy. After surgery, I did switch to decaf as they recommended for a few months, but I'm back to regular. Now I drink my coffee with 1 cream and 1 splenda for a 14oz medium size. I ordered a sugar free mocha from a coffee shop a few weeks ago and it was so sweet i could barely drink it. When I got to work, I brewed a cup of strong black coffee in my keurig, and poured it into the mocha and it was still so sweet. So, just slightly sweet and with just a touch of cream to take off some of the acidity. (long winded for that explanation, huh?)

I had a phenomenal food day yesterday. I stuck to plan, and adjusted where I changed things, and I came in at 710 calories, 88 protein and 50 carbs. Even though I struggled with cravings during the day, I was able to push through and stick to it. Dinner was very satisfying, so it helped with the snacking later in the night.

So, lets see if I can do the same thing again today:

Almost 6 months since surgery (177 days exactly)

B: ground beef and cheese wonton quiche, coffee with cream and splenda

L: Chicken with stewed veggies (crap that was going to go bad if I didn't cook it Zucchini, ****ake mushrooms, onion, tomatoes, leftover steamed carrots, etc), 1/2 oz mozzarella cheese.

D: steamed shrimp with stewed veggies with mozzarella

S: Light and fit greek, turkey pepperoni with a light laughing cow cheese.

Totals:

Calories 795 Protein 84 carbs 48 and fat 30

This is a lot of food and I should have no problem sticking to it today.

Happy Thursday all! My scale moved down a pound this morning. It's really slowed down and I'm thinking I'm just in a stall or something.

Since the cold winter weather has arrived, my cross addiction has become decaf coffee with a splash of sugar free creamer.  I ALWAYS have a cup of coffee with me.   And the Keurig at work doesn't help the situation.  My daughters are telling me that I have a serious problem, LOL.  I tried a cup of caffeinated last week, and OMG! My heart was racing and hands were shaking.

B - Decaf coffee with sf creamer, syntrax vanilla shake

L - slices of leftover pork roast with cheddar cheese on triscuit crackers

D - Chili (1 cup)

S - cheese stick and Dannon Greek Yougurt 100 cals.

Good morning ladies! I've been up since 2:45am, I participated in a count this morning to identify how many homeless people are living in our area. I'm going to be tired by noon!

I don't like coffee. I want to like it, worked night shift on and off for 5-6 years and tried to like it, just couldn't. I do however love Twinings Irish Breakfast tea. I love it with Italian sweet cream creamer....in fact, I have it probably every night at some point. When it's the middle of winter and this cold, it just feels good at night to be snuggled up on the couch with a cup of hot tea...yum.

Anyway, I am not doing well this week with my choices. Last night I was out late past dinner and went through the freaking drive through at Taco Bell. (that put me 400 calories over for the day). I'm not telling you all to brag, but to hold myself accountable. I know I can't do this once I have the surgery....it's like I'm mourning the junk food I won't be able to/should not eat. I think I may buy myself a diary and begin journaling again. I know I have food issues, or I wouldn't have gotten to this point. Maybe writing some of it down will help.

Something else I'm going to start (TONIGHT) is some exercise. I have put it off like the plague because honestly I'm lazy and don't like it. We have a dreadmill, and I guess I will get on it tonight. There aren't any kids activities or games or other excuses I can come up with....so....

B-spinach and egg puffs; blueberry muffin (UGH, carbs again...)

L-? nothing planned, got up so early I didn't pack

D-shrimp ****tail with sauce

S-tea with creamer

Cals-? under 1200

E- 30 minutes on dreadmill
