What's On Your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
Good Thursday Morning to all! Yesterday's post was so fun, you guys. I loved reading all about you and LOVED having some new "faces" join in! It's nice to know that no matter where we live or what's going on in our lives, that we're all in this together. Group hug!
Random Question! How do you take your coffee? If you're not a coffee drinker, well, then you're wrong. LOL I take mine with half and half, no sweetener. Unless it's iced coffee, in which case I drink that with milk and a couple of Splendas. I do like flavored coffee but not the flavored creamer; it's too damn sweet. I always say that if someone can come up with an unsweetened flavored creamer, that'd be my new favorite person.

I was a 2 pot a day coffee drinker pre-op. Gave it up and switched to decaf! I never thought I'd last this long but I'm at 6months post op with not even a sip of caffeinated anything. Can you believe it? Now I usually have my decaf with a scoop of protein powder but before wls, I had it with ultraskim milk (lactose free) and two Equal.
And since I didn't get to tell you much about myself yesterday...I'm 41. Had the band when I was 35 but it caused more problems than it cured. So happy to have my revision! I live outside of Boston. I'm an on-the-side artist with a passion for bookmaking. If I had the confidence I'd become a children's book illustrator, but for now I'm not ready.
I am feeling a little frustrated that the scale just won't budge. I stand in it and yell, "moooooove", but it won't listen!! 1.5lbs to go. Seriously!
B: decaf coffee with a scoop of chocolate Unjury
S: Mr Cheese Os
L: egg salad on cucumber slices
S: Vermont Cured honey mustard turkey stick

Ha! Couldn't agree more. But I like not feeling so "beholden" to my cuppa. Its weird but I feel more energetic without the hard crash I used to have when the high ended.

Good morning, good morning! You're so right, AV, I loooved reading about everyone. Even for the folks who I've "known" on the post for months (and some more than a year!) - it's fun to be reminded of who they are IRL and to see what details they find important enough to share!
Coffee! Oh, how I love thee! I almost always get my coffee out (Wawa or Dunkin usually) and put in two little creamer cups and then far too many Splenda packets (4). I used to drink DD regular coffee with cream and sugar - because they put far more cream and sugar in than I ever would have - even when I was eating with abandon! I try to stick to just one 16oz cup in the morning, but sometimes I sneak another one in in the late morning, early afternoon...
Time since surgery: just shy of 2 years
B: coffee with cream and Splenda, a Special K breakfast sandwich
S: PowerCrunch whilst in the car headed to a meeting
L: Eggface's Bacon, Onion and Cheese Mini Meatloaf, though I didn't have the cheese for the recipe so it's just Bacon and Onion, but sooooo good - highly recommend!
S: Sargento Balance Break pack
D: omelette
S: ? It's book club night, so inevitably there will be snacking...that's why I've left a lot of calories for the end of the day...but please send me strength to stay away from the damned carbs!

V/W: started
E: managed to "forget" I was supposed to do an at home workout this morning, so I'll try to squeeze something in between work and book club that won't get me too sweaty!

Good Morning! You're funny AV I LOVE coffee so I take mine with half and half and for a treat, I use Hazelnut (no sugar). It's funny though because I've decreased my intake drastically and I'm down to 1/2 in the morning and if I want one at night I make sure I do so before 7 pm....latest 8:00 - unless I go strictly decalf at that point.
On another note, I want to say thank you to everyone who lifted me up for my interview yesterday. It went wonderful....I am expecting a call by COB tomorrow regarding the next step in the process. I'm also waiting to hear back from an interview that went on a week ago and I really walked out feeling good about that as well. I was told upfront that I'll hear something this week....Fingers crossed!
I'm really hungry this morning so I'm going to try to pack in as much protein as I possibly can...I think the stress level is going up and it doesn't help that I'm home.

You Ladies are the Bomb! Hold it down...! Great day everyone!
I am on faux coffee (decaf) for the foreseeable future- BUT- I LOVE COFFEE!!!
I drink mine with a stevia or spenda, torani syrup, or SF creamer, or milk. Not all together.
Yesterday was my 6 week followup. I'm 7 pounds away from onederland! I can't believe it.
Surgeon was very happy with me and I don't have to go back for 4.5 MONTHS!! OMG!
The best part about it is that I can start on soft solids which really just means everything but beef, nuts, and raw veg. So I am over the moon happy that my life is a little back to my new normal.
I'm now on 6 meals a day so I was instructed yesterday.
B: protein shake
S: light sting cheese
L: rotis chicken with hummus
S:1/2 quest apple pie bar
D: pork loin with green beans
S: 1/2 oikos coffee triple zero
total: 557 cal
Protein: 75

I LOVE COFFEE! Pre surgery I was a Diet Coke addict (like 6-8 cans a day!) now I hate the stuff. But I have switched my addiction to coffee and espresso. I have 2-4 cups a day. I like my coffee white, meaning full of half and half and sf flavoring. I love a skinny latte but my income doesn't support that addiction ;)
Anyway, today I work on trying to stay away from refined sugar. The last week I have been seeking it out. I WILL NOT PUT MY HAND IN A CANDY JAR TODAY!!
OK, I have to run to a meeting so...
B: Coffee and omelet
S: Meat stick
L: Pizza (damnit)
S: Protein Coffee
D: Black Bean Noodles with skinny alfredo
W/V: NEED MORE WATER TODAY!
E: Run after work!
No time for totals gotta bolt!!
