50 weight gain
I had rny in Nov 2010. I was doing grea****ching my food intake and working out a lot. I had 70lb weight loss. I was diagnosed with heart problems and my cardiologist told me I had to stop exercising. He told me if I did not stop working out, I could over stress my heart and throw my heart into a bad rhythm. It was explained to me that my condition was like the condition where you see people who are athletic that drop dead after working out. They had an underlined heart disease they did not know about. I became depressed. I was also planning my wedding, I was finishing my bachelor degree and looking for work because he stopped me from doing the work I was doing because it was really stressful. Therefore, I have packed on 50 pounds. I am trying to get motivated to get the weight back off. I have since been released by my cardiologist to exercise. I have graduated and I am now married. I need to get the weight back off. I am 2 days in with getting back to drinking my protein shakes and choosing the correct foods to eat. I need help with food choices
Glad to hear that you are now all cleared to get back to the exercise. Ready to get back to what lead to your successful weight loss. Protein, Protein Protein. Lead each meal with your 3 ozs of protein. If room is left 1/4 of vegs, drink your 64 oz of water, 80 to 100 grams of protein a day and move when ever you have the chance. Come on this site and get the support that you need. There are tons of vets on this site who will chime in and help out.
good luck to you.

Don't know what chf is. What are your/your doctor's plans for adequate fluid?

White Dove always has really good advice for handling weight gain.
I am sorry for all the stress you have been under. I am glad you are at a place where you can begin again. The small pouch is there still. We all struggle. This is such a great support site. I hope you will visit often.
Welcome back! I understand how hard it is when you gain weight. I lost 108 lbs on weigh****chers and struggled to keep it off, then gave up and when I went to check out having WLS I was just 17 lbs away from having gained it all back. I hated me, I could not stand having that weight back on me. I am just 10 months out from WLS now and now am 2 lbs down from my lowest WW weight! It has not been easy but it has been worth it. You can do this. Like the vets will tell us on here...you got to get back to basics. Do what you was doing in the beginning. Don't drink with your meals. Protein first. Leave those carbs alone. Drink your water and take your vitamins. You can do this. We have the tool. We just got to follow the rules.
I am glad you are doing better, that your heart is better.
However, and there is a bad news, exercise contribute very little to weight loss. Food - you diet is a primary reason for losing weight or gaining.
Saying that - exercise can help with well being, and that can help to motivate a person ..plus it increases insurance, and may help retaining muscles.
Unfortunately people overestimate how many calories they are buring during exercises...
Very strenuous exercise makes me really hungry...so I tend to eat more when I work harder.. Moderate exercise, like walking, yoga, really makes me feel good and helps me tone and lose weight.
Good luck.

At this point, you have no need to drink your calories so why are you drinking protein shakes? Eating your protein will give you more satiety. Three protein meals with vegetables and a small protein snack if needed is the way to go.
Not sure how much weight you had to lose, but I'm guessing that you never reached goal, in which case I'm also guessing that you were not really following food rules from the get go. Stay active on this site and you'll learn how people eat to be successful long term
