really cute NSV

So, one of my main reasons for going forward with RNY is because I have a toddler.  I had him at 40 when I was MO, and that pregnancy pushed me into the SMO category.  He is the sweetest, cutest, smartest little guy, and I am so proud to be his mommy.  I was worried that I wouldn't be able to be active with him, but this weekend and this morning have proven that I've turned that corner.

My husband and I take him grocery shopping with us every weekend.  It's like a little family outing, and with the two of us we can usually handle any issues or fussiness that he can throw our way.  This weekend he was a firecracker.  He insisted on walking the store, and has now gotten into this game where he looks at me, giggles and takes off at top speed down the aisle.  Of course, I chase him down and bring him back, and I'm really trying to squash this new game.  Over the last few months, he's gotten REALLY FAST, so this weekend was a bit of a challenge.  I really had to sprint to catch up with the stinker.

So, this morning, we went out into our front yard and I started my car.  As the car was warming in the driveway, we were having races up and down the sidewalk.  here I am at 7:30 in the morning in 25 degree weather racing my 2 year old.  It was so much fun, and we were both giggling like mad.

I thank God everyday that I had this surgery, the quality of life for me, my kids and my husband has been so greatly improved.

here's my sweetie when we were painting the other night.

Congratulations! You will be able to be such an active mom now! I wish I had had my surgery when my boys were young because I missed so much sitting on the sidelines. Keep up the work,it truly does pay off!

Can't wait until this summer when we can get out and really play. I had my surgery in August, so didn't really get too much warm weather with the real significant weight loss.

Same sorta story here, was MO also at 42 when I had my first child, hes 5 now and I was barely able to keep up last year.  Yesterday we went sledding on the big hills near our house, and he quit before I did, and then I pulled him all the way home on his sled.  Im a different person this year!!!  What a wonderful second chance at life this surgery has given us!  You keep chasing that little man, its some of the best exercise I get and some of the best memories ill ever have!

That is so aweome. We can be healthy and be good examples for our kids.  My oldest is 16 and is obese. His diet is changing,  but I can't get him to exercise.  Hell, I can't get him off of the computer half the time, lol.

I hope my lifestyle change will positively influence his choices.
